Darkhorse breakout player

True dark horses

Offense: TMJ, showed some promise at back end of Wilks season.

Defense: DJ Johnson

It would not surprise however if either of these players get cut during training camp hence the true longshot bet

You can’t go with a WR and ignore the QB but really, do people see anyone breaking out there? Maybe Brooks if the OL gels and he is healthy.

I’m just going with Corbett. He does the job. Problem solved. If the O works it is because the OL works. If this OL works, he is doing better than anyone here thought.

I believe in Corbett.

Brings up a situation that I think will be the dam breaker. All this investment into WR, has to give.

They do this, and insert them into an ever changing environment where the QB is different, the OC is different, their position coach is different, and really the QB has historically in the Tepper years, been a project. Which one was not?

As it happens the guys they hired have strong background with NFL WRs. So, good. Let’s see what we have.

It was/will be borderline negligent to just blindly go into the season with Corbett at C and no clear backup plan. Sure hope it works out.

It's a huge head scratcher.  Leaving that big of a blind spot on the line is baffling.

You can say that, I can say that, but how do you know? Do you think these guys understand what they need? Or do they not get it?

We don’t know for sure if they get it....

But, I want to assume Morgan understands pro football.

If he doesn't do well, we spent all that money on OL for literally nothing. He is one of the most critical elements of this offensive overhaul. If he gets injured or he doesn't pan out, you can go ahead and bank on the season being a mess.

yeah Corbertt being a big man co.ing back from back to back seasons where he suffered a ACL injury in 2022 then a MCL last season in 2023 definitely puts him in a higher risk category to possibly re-injure in 2024

I will never understand & maybe it's not meant for me to understand why the Panthers did not just  draft a center this year ?

Because counting on any player to successfully switch positions, particularly a position as key as center, and not having a clear backup plan is just stupid in any scenario. He played a number of preseason center snaps for Cleveland years ago, but coming off of there injuries makes it an even bigger question mark.

I'm not saying he will fail and I'm not saying that the decision is baseless. I'm just saying that they really should have planned another clear option.

It seemed like such an obvious hole in their OL plans that they just didn't address. I mean, they even hedged on LT because od those struggles but then they just decide an oft injured veteran with almost no experience at C is just gonna be the guy? Also, with literally almost no backup???

I couldn't wrap my head around that at all.
