ARTICLE Adam Thielen: “You can tell by his demeanor that Bryce Young is more comfortable“

Maybe talk more about Brown or the usual long shot to make the roster fluff? After last year's massive PR bungles focusing on Young as little as possible would be a mercy to everyone. I get there isn't a lot to positive to focus on until they start winning games, or not, but that's kind of the point of the people who see that department as a endless crap pump. Making fun of what they usually put out is way too easy and it's about the only entertainment they are providing anymore until something actually changes.

Well the Panthers Blueprint episode that just dropped didn’t focus on Young at all and yet people are still here complaining because Adam Thielen answered a question. So, I reject your premise that the complainers would complain less if there was less focus on Young, because there has already been less focus on Young and here we still are.

Except I never said anyone would complain less. Thielen sat down for an interview at a very unfortunate time. I get he is just doing his professional thing but there is a lot of crap being tossed and it looks like he is catching it. Thielen doing an interview just brings it up again.

People are complaining because the team is bad and the PR is a target for personal fun or relief or anything else people want to dump into the Panther shaped hole in reality that is this place.

I am kind of amused that people are outraged over negativity towards a team that blew major division/playoff smoke and backed it up with the 2-15 2023 season that we all watched. I’ll stop there with the details.

I think people understand that coaches and teammates are expected to say positive things. So it could be seen as just more smoke we are expected to breathe in and like it. With their track record, skepticism is par.

I say get over it.

Yes the team is bad. Yes Young struggled his first year and yes our owner is still Tepper. So I agree with your “get over it” comment. The team isn’t going to stop letting players do interviews, avoid any possible questions about Young, lock Tepper away to hide him from the public, or any of this nonsense stuff. They fired their GM and HC. So let’s get over it like you said and see what happens.

If people don’t like these interviews and PR articles, I understand. However, whining about them and continuously drawing attention to them (AKA clicks) sure as hell isn’t making them go away anytime soon. Just a heads up…

I understand the perspective.  I don't understand that it's all you can fuging talk about.

And discussing meaningless fluff pieces as if they are important/insightful is somehow more valid? 99% of that crap is worthless for any team, not just Carolina. It's no more meaningful for winning teams like the Chiefs (random example), the generic platitudes just appear to better align with reality for those organizations.

No one is outraged. We all get the negativity, if you cover this team at all and care about it, you have felt a huge amount of outrage at the teams results over the last few years. The point is that this is a panthers board and people have been negative about anything being posted about the team period. Some choose to have a glass half full approach right now and have hope that Bryce can turn things around in year two with an actual NFL coaching staff, a line that does not get him sacked most in team history, a WR core that does not have a slow 33 year old white WR as his number one option, an actual NFL running game etc.

We live miserable lives as fans of this team, and it’s literally the only time of the year when we can hope for a change with the team. No one is forcing anyone to breathe in smoke, just take a break from covering the team if you don't care to read it or hear it updates from the players

Some of you need to understand that these types of articles/"fluff" pieces aren't catering to the types of fans who are going scorched earth rage-posting online about "clown show" this and "dumpster fire" that and getting ticked off at the sight of a few seconds of David Tepper in a 45-minute video.  Y'all are a particularly niche subset of the fanbase to get irrationally upset over these things and are far beyond placating.  There's zero reason from a business perspective (which is what this is at the end of the day) to waste a second thinking about a portion of the fanbase who has zero excitement around the team, won't go to a single game this year, won't buy any merch, etc.  If you're the type of person who acknowledges there's nothing the team could do or say in the offseason to sway you in any way, then have the awareness to recognize that you're not the target audience.

Yes, a lot of people (myself included) are numb to these types of articles and are in a "just show me" mindset...but getting upset at an incredibly milquetoast piece of praise like "Bryce looks more comfortable" is honestly pretty unhinged.  Thielen is even explicitly acknowledging a similar sentiment as you in the last paragraph of the article:

He's basically saying "yeah this is the offseason so take all of this with a grain of salt".  I don't even think this rises to the level of "fluff".

Looking at the empty stadium its clear the other part of the fan base has given up too.

    • LeBron not getting enough attention he had to announce to the world he's leaving social media for the time being lol   This man about to be 40. This is kid like behavior and I'm a fan of LeBron. Cmon bro do better.
    • Does anyone else see this as the beginning of the end of Freddie Andersen? It started as a day-to-day. Escalated to week-to-week: Brind'Amour announced that Andersen was considered week-to-week with the injury. He said, "That's a little more time than I was hoping, but hopefully we'll get an update every week". Next: Brind'Amour later said that Andersen's injury would be "way longer" than expected. Now: https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/toronto-maple-leafs/latest-news/report-former-maple-leafs-goaltender-frederik-andersen-shut-down-by-hurricanes-to-miss-roughly-8-weeks-following-knee-surgery According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, Andersen is set to undergo surgery that will keep him out of the team's lineup for "roughly" eight weeks. Who here believes the Canes will roll with Kochetkov and Martin without making a move?
    • Meniscus maybe? I can't see it being ligaments or he would be done for the year.
