rewatching game 1

Hilee Taylor got in on a lot of plays. I wonder what his injury status is? He hasn't been placed on IR.

Gamble has played very well so far into the 3rd.

We have been getting a lot of pressure, but warner keeps stepping up.

I think the refs are refusing to call holds this year.

The camera pans to trgo, and he has the usual dumb founded expression.

Good thread. I can't watch the game but I looked over the game play-by-play. Here are four things that stood out.

1) The problem that really killed us in the middle part of the season was a factor in this game: A SLOW START. I think this has been improved upon by both the players and the coaches. This was identified as a problem for Carolina before this game. I don't see it as an issue anymore.

2) The turnover from the Delhomme sack at the Carolina 5 yard line. The result was 7 points. Turnovers will kill you. We have lost some games this year because of them and this reminded me of the turning point against Minnesota. (I count blocked punts as a turnovers, btw) Result: 10-3

3) With an eventual 17-3 lead, early in the 3rd quarter, the Cards ran the ball four (4) times for two (2) yards and a lost fumble in the second half.

4) We controlled the ball for the final 5:57 of the game.

Field position will be key

Put them in constant bad field position with the cold weather on a short week in the east coast will be bad for them

Rep.

Lloyd plus Baker plus fast start plus ball control equals a win. The run game will gain the time of possession advantage. At home plus TOP advantage is going to be hard to beat.

after watching this game the first go-round, i thought to myself, "man, i dont want to see this team again in the playoffs..." the Cards are tough and their strength is our weakness. their D is underrated. obviously if we play how we know we can play then we'll win, but if our D doesn't have an answer to KW and they somehow stop our running game, we're screwededed.
