I'm sure most people would be happy to have that after all the previous years under Tepper. Five winning seasons in a row plus 4 years of playoffs is a lot better than what the Panthers have done since the last SB appearance.

Alex Smith had 2 seasons over 3500 (3502, 4042) yards.  And his stats overall are pretty fuging awful.  Their HOF coach knew the deal and even if they were making the playoffs they still werent going to win it a limited qb.

Copy and paste.

and get clicks.

just find last year's news when you want attention and say the same damn thing every time. lazy man's job.

are they saying anything new? no. why? because they either aren't smart enough or they are desperate for attention/clicks.

or they just like being the next in line to beat a dead horse.

which apparently is all we do around here so i guess they know their audience.

The thing we me is i dont agree with putting an immense amount of pressure on skill players all because the QB is so limited an needs them to be that much better so he can succeed. Those are the type of discussions that divide the fanbase and something that shouldnt be tolerated going into next season.

As someone who watches zero college football, and this is an honest question, how did Bryce 'elevate those around him' at Alabama? Haven't they had a number of offensive guys drafted in recent years? I understand that not all of those guys are NFL-caliber stars, but you don't really have to be in college to be good or even dominant.

As a Carolina example, Cam very clearly was the 2010 Auburn team. Those guys would have been much less successful without him and Auburn has had a whopping 2 years with 10 wins or more since 2010. Can the same be said for Alabama and Bryce?

I'm going off of what was said in Ellis' tweet in asking this.

but it's ok to more pressure on the QB when the whole situation around him is a flaming pile of poo?

this whole idea that a QB can/should turn a pile of chicken poo into a chicken salad is pretty lame, because in the end it's still just chicken poo and shouldn't be eaten.

More of the same, but with actual statistics thrown in with the film review. It's a long one

Young’s lack of arm strength and size creates little room for error in his play.

This will define his career unfortunately I think. If he can somehow give himself wiggle room consistently then he has a chance, but I won't believe it till I see it.

My friend....THE GUY WAS DRAFTED NUMBER 1 OVERALL. We traded picks and players to move up to get him. It comes with the territory. Not to mention bryce never strayed away from it, he had to convince the team in some sort of compacity he was worthy of the honor of being drafted as the savior. It's not the same as being drafted in the later rounds, that's just how it is. And nobody is really saying he has to carry the team, but he atleast needs to.show more individual capability that strengthens why we drafted him where we did. He is still playing with nfl level talent at the end of the day, he needs him to help them just as much as everybody says they need to help bryce.

Despite all the negativity, Bryce made throws last season that Bridgewater or Darnold just can't do. That's what gives me a sliver a hope for this season...if Bryce can fix mechanics to limit the mistakes he'll still be the best QB we've had since 2017. It's not a high bar, but its a bar.

Alex Smith is his ceiling imo

KC wasnt taking home any rings with him as their QB even with a stacked team around him.

That kind of play can get you to the playoffs and thats about it. WC weekend going home.

That's an insult to Alex Smith. He runs rings round Young as an athlete.

Yeah comping BY to a 6'4" guy is a bit of a weird one. I get that he's saying the ceiling is a game manager but Bryce can't just stand in the shotgun and toss it around the field like Smith

    • What I really learned here is that the Carolina Panthers aren't anywhere near as bad as I initially thought they were earlier this year.  We've got a young and growing offense with some promising parts. But it still needs some tweaks and improvements.  We really still could still use a dominant #1 WR. But Chubba,  Legette, Coker,  and J.Sanders have generally looked decent. Bryce took a big leap after the benching. We can score enough points to keep pace with 2x defending super bowl champions, so offense isn't a huge issue. Main thing that needs improvement is defense. We sorely need a CB 2, and a number of new players at Dline and LB.  We're not quite as bad at edge with Wonnum showing promise.  But we definitely need 1 or 2 more edges Clowney is old.  Run D is probably worse prevailing theme these past couple years. We really need a good young stud or two to pair with Derrick Brown and another LB to pair up with Trevin Wallace. If Morgan and Canales can focus on rebuilding the defense this off-season and possibly going out and getting a #1 WR. This team could easily be somewhere around 7-10 to 10-7 and flirting with playoffs in 1 or 2 seasons. Overall this game has made me feel alot more positive about the direction of the team.
    • With our picks we need pass rush, lb, Safety, a speedster yac wr, o line depth and I still want a mid round qb. We got 9 picks and 8 in the first 5 rounds. If they pull Off another solid draft we be cooking.
    • We had one passing touchdown against the Giants and one passing touchdown against the Chiefs today. Yes a good backup can replicate that. And that is why Andy Dalton in significantly less games has the same number of 30 point outings as Bryce Young. I am on board with you guys about wanting to be hopeful for the future. Today was a good performance to build on especially at home. But let's please keep things in perspective. BTW the Bucs who honestly aren't even that good blew the doors off the Giants today after we went to overtime against them with 17 points. Again. Perspective.
