Weird how little coverage there is of this. What's the deal that got this going because I haven't heard of any being made between the Panthers and the local government?

There was a discussion about it for over a year.  $1.2B split between Panthers and the city.  Almost certain they will put a roof over BofA and probably add more seats.  Locals are pissed about the expense so city and Tepper kept it hush hush.

Still no grass.

The fact that we still haven't went back to a grass field still infuriates me. The fans, the players, and most of the people involved with the team want the field switched back to a grass playing field but for some reason the 2nd richest owner in the league who makes a good profit on the team and who is gonna pay a pretty penny to renovate the stadium and receive a good bit of the tax payer dollar to do so still thinks that the cost to keep and maintain a grass playing surface is too expensive but will roll out the grass red carpet for a Soccer team to come play here for 1 game. If it was something genuinely undoable then I'd understand but JR who was FAR from the richest owner in the league was able to do it so there is no reason for Tepper not to except for the sole reason of him being cheap. JR despite all of his faults wanted the team to feel unique to the Carolinas whereas Tepper is too focused on trying to make us feel like a generic run of the mill NFL team and has pretty much killed the culture of the team in the process.

    • This.  Honest introspection on his behalf would have seen that size and strength were his biggest weaknesses. He looks no different. With the programs in the NFL, he could have come back to camp 10 lbs of muscle heavier. Easily. If had done so, it would have been reported on. It would have been the hottest story…. But we never saw anything of the sort, so it probably never happened.  He showed improvement this last game, likely from Andy’s tutelage. He has to show something VERY special to close the season out to change my thinking on him… like 4 game winning streak with a clutch 4th quarter comeback. Then maybe.
    • It absolutely is on him for doing it and I'd wager he used a good bit of that psychology major to help him through interviews because he could read people better than most. The Panthers should have recognized it for what it was, hell, we all did, but you can't absolve him just because everyone else does it.    38 Million guaranteed.
    • No Ikem vs the best pass rushing team in the NFL?  With no pocket for Bryce to step in to because of arguably the best interior DL in the NFL, Dexter Lawrence? Giants win comfortably IMO.  Look at how hype the Panthers were to win last week.  That was enough for them. The Panthers have struggled against mobile QBs this year too.  Guys who can extend the play.  Bo Nix, Marcus Mariota, Caleb Williams.  Panthers have struggled against all QBs this year to be honest, but those guys in particular did the best statistically.  Expect a big game from Danny Dimes, Nabers, and Tyrone.
