Panthers Blueprint

I think the issue is there isn't any more of these posters still active on this site.  Everyone I see posting now either doesn't like Bryce or wants to see him in a better situation to make a better assessment.  I think everyone agrees he has work to do in order to show us he can become the QB we need him to.  Who knows if he will or if he can, but there are definitely other conversations to be had without being stuck on repeat and every thread turning into the same one.  It sounds like you need to find the Bryce Fan Boys from before the draft and just vent/hash it all out with them somewhere.

Many of those posters are still around. The ones who compared him to hall of famers in this and other sports. They're just biding their time waiting to see if Bryce will suddenly turn into a great QB.

I think the way you frame it indicates the problem. It's either on one side people who as you put it "don't like him" (in most instances impossible to truly know on an anonymous chat board) or people who need to see him with stacked talent to form a conclusion after hyping up as a one man show a year ago. You say there are discussions to be had but if it involves anything remotely on the side of negative instead of the "everything is awesome" end of the spectrum it is met with talk of what some are now describing as a pathological need to be critical of him. As if the rest of the sports world doesn't have these same blunt discussions whenever he is mentioned.

If there were truly other more notable discussions to be had right now that haven't also been discussed endlessly we would be having them. We just had yet another uniform thread. Instead the top 2 threads dominating the front page for the last 24 hours since the first blueprint episodes dropped have revolved around the starting QB. That's just the modern NFL. Some people want to shoot the messenger over that because they don't like the banter that follows 🤷‍♂️

I actually agree with everything you've said here. My comment was directed to the posters who feel the need to derail threads with the same Bryce talking points over and over again. It's just tiresome, even if what they're saying has some truth to it.

It is tiresome for sure. This whole 6 year run is tiresome. I am tired of this team. Really just, can’t stand ownership’s reign and decision making and am worn the fug down by them. And the people who defend their mistakes, year after year.

Oddly enough I have optimism, slight but it is there. Not about Bryce, he represents the bad Tepper decisions to me and either will change that opinion or he won’t.

I just have a decent feeling about the Morgan and Canales duo.

It's just becoming spam.  Same take on every thread.  That's just where people getting annoyed with your "take" are coming from.  There is nothing wrong with your critiques as most are pretty accurate.  The ones that are laying low or hiding aren't taking the bait.  I think hopefully all of us at this point understand how you feel about our situation with Bryce.  You can scream it from the rooftops keep spamming it on repeat, but the trade was made and we have to get through another year regardless.

Good lawd, look at the amount of rotation required for a mere 40-yard pass. No wonder he needs a runway for any throw beyond 50 yards.

Can you think of any NFL quarterback today who has a weaker arm than Bryce?

For reference, with a similar amount of hip rotation, Stroud slung the ball 69 yards.

So now the conversations pivots.  That's how it goes.

Yes Stroud is the better passer.  Thanks for that groundbreaking info...

How has the conversation pivoted? My contention has always been that Bryce is "one of the most physically limited, fundamentally flawed QBs ever" in the NFL, and that Bryce defenders have laughably low standards and are barely sentient.

You showed me a couple of Bryce's throws as if they are proof that he's not as bad as his critics make him out to be, my Stroud clip just proves that you don't know ball.

I do not pretend to be infallible or without flaws. I've been wrong on things over the years. We all have.

Realistically most of what's been said here and on other Panthers fans social media platforms between the months of May and September for the last several years amounts to little more than spam. People drew lines in the sand over contentious takes on Bridgewater too. To the point of being asked if some people are really a Panthers fan over it. There will be reactionary spam during the season too particularly on gamedays. I've been reading these discussions on the huddle for 20 years. It's the same stuff rehashed the only thing that changes are the names in the front office the coaching staff and the roster.

Some fans might be best served to stick to the official team social feeds if they are burned out on all this. Nothing wrong with that either. Different strokes for different folks. We're all human.

As for the huddle. Honestly most of us post here out of habit. It's a habit hard to break. No different than the majority of the population that can't stop scrolling Facebook or X.

Basically.....

It went from he has to jump to he has to bend his hips. That’s changing it. I showed you clips of him throwing deep without jumping which means he doesn’t always have to. I liked and like Stroud better so I’m not really a Bryce defender. Just think you don’t have to make up things when critiquing our QB like he has to jump to throw it deep. There is plenty of ammo there without those exaggerations. Oh yeah the “you don’t know ball” argument. Classic.

That argument could be used for actual trolls. “If you don’t like it find somewhere else to post” is just silly. Some of us are just letting you know, you are sounding like a broken record on these threads. It’s just some constructive criticism. You don’t have to change your ways. I doubt you will. Just wanted to make sure you were aware. Feel free to deflect and use one of those GIFs again.

No, it went from me complaining about his terrible throwing technique to you defending him by saying that plenty of other QBs also have both of their feet off the ground when making on-platform throws. When I challenged you to show me examples, you couldn't, so you pivoted to showing a clip from his Bama days to prove that he doesn't do it on every throw.

I didn't switch topic or pivot, because it was you who moved the goal post. I'd appreciate it if you could stop insulting my intelligence. So, can you give me some examples of other NFL QBs whose on-platform deep ball requires both of his feet to leave the ground at the same time before hip rotation?

P.S. See what I mean when I say Bryce defenders are barely sentient?

Meant to post the quote:

Yeah it is hard to swear off. I was a football fan long before the Panthers and they are my connection to that.

I much prefer NFL football and will come here to argue over it (uhh, discuss), that’s a big part of following a team.

Show me another NFL QB whose on-platform deep ball requires both of his feet to leave the ground at the same time before hip rotation.

Look at his legs, spread very far apart, including his thighs, with left leg at the front and right leg at the back. That's not a on-the-run throw. That's his patented hopping motion that comes with his deep ball which, due to his weak arm, requires him to launch is entire body into the throw, resulting in both of his feet leaving the turf from the forward momentum.

This is just exceptionally poor technique.

This is the part I am talking about.  He does not REQUIRE both of his feet to leave the ground as per both the clips I have shown you.  Then you switched to focusing in on solely his hip rotation and weak arm etc...  His deep ball does not require both of his feet to leave the ground.  Your original claim is debunked with video evidence.  I'm sorry that you are having trouble handling or grasping that.  Back to his weak arm, mechanics, size etc.. have at it.

Here is the thread about QBs leaving their feet which I was referencing too earlier.

Seriously? That's 34 air yards at best. I have yet to meet a Bryce defender who doesn't have laughably low standards by which they judge QB play.

Here is a 45 yard pass.

Spoiler Alert.... He doesn't have to leave his feet for it.

The real issue is the fact that this thread had nothing to do with Bryce Young, and yet once again somehow, someway, someone found a way to talk about how bad he is again.  It is just exhausting reading it over and over and over again, like we get it.  Bryce sucks.  And you can't even blame the "Bryce fanboys" because again, nobody had even talked about Bryce in this thread until that post.

Can we not just sticky a "Bryce sucks" thread at the top of the forum?

I was kicking around doing that the other day because you can't post anything about the team without someone making a snide comment or choosing to poo on Bryce completely unprompted in damn near every thread.

The toxicity from last year is still carrying over.
