I think in the end we are all agreeing on the same point. Everyone wants the team/BY to be successful. Most comments are heavily nuanced in optimism or pessimism which rubs others the wrong way. Its a forum on the internet so I just go with it.

The reality is that the org is trying to build a team that provides the offensive framework for a young QB to develop. If BY can’t do that (I hope he can and reserve judgement) it is unfortunate and they will need to look elsewhere.

Facts.

He needs to stop doing that. He has to stop doing that. If he can't then he's got to be one of the most physically limited, fundamentally flawed QBs ever in the history of gridiron football.

Do we need to bring that thread up showing all of the NFL QBs leaving their feet during passes? If the form is right leading up the pass I’m ok with it.

Show me another NFL QB whose on-platform deep ball requires both of his feet to leave the ground at the same time before hip rotation

Look at his legs, spread very far apart, including his thighs, with left leg at the front and right leg at the back. That's not a on-the-run throw. That's his patented hopping motion that comes with his deep ball which, due to his weak arm, requires him to launch is entire body into the throw, resulting in both of his feet leaving the turf from the forward momentum.

This is just exceptionally poor technique.

I used to go to OTAs a lot when Fox and Rivera were coaching.  The clips I have seen from OTAs seem more upbeat and intense.

That will work until the loses start to pile up. I'm curious to see this offense he's going to create and whether is will be successful at all.

There's no discussion anymore, it's just a circle jerk about how bad Bryce is, and it got old a while ago.

The issue is he wasn't just bad. He was historically bad.

So yes if the Panthers put up a new blueprint video and conclude the first episode with footage of the same QB hopping in the air to heave a basic pass in OTA's in shorts after doing so throughout the trainwreck that was the 2023 season after hiring a coach specifically to "fix" him yes it's going to derail that thread.

He doesn’t do it every time he throws a deep pass. It depends on where he is in the pocket, where the OL is, coverage etc…

Here it is in the NFL if you want to cry this was college

I appreciate you spinning your pathological need to turn every thread into a Bryce hate circle jerk as some sort of preordained inevitability.

I think the people who contort themselves into a pretzel to act like the whole world is against Bryce just can't reconcile with the fact that none of this is any different than the discussions Panthers fans have had over any of the other failed QB's the last 5 years. Of course the *on field* difference is we didn't bottom out completely with any of those QB's.

Appreciate your kind words.

I think the issue is there isn't any more of these posters still active on this site.  Everyone I see posting now either doesn't like Bryce or wants to see him in a better situation to make a better assessment.  I think everyone agrees he has work to do in order to show us he can become the QB we need him to.  Who knows if he will or if he can, but there are definitely other conversations to be had without being stuck on repeat and every thread turning into the same one.  It sounds like you need to find the Bryce Fan Boys from before the draft and just vent/hash it all out with them somewhere.

Good lawd, look at the amount of rotation required for a mere 40-yard pass. No wonder he needs a runway for any throw beyond 50 yards.

Can you think of any NFL quarterback today who has a weaker arm than Bryce?

For reference, with a similar amount of hip rotation, Stroud slung the ball 69 yards.

That's not totally the case.

It is hard to discuss future without a crystal ball, you look at the past the to assess and project, and there is a lot of on field negative from year one. Some people say throw it out. You can’t dismiss things that were on him and not the OL or Reich or Chark or Mingo etc., if you want the real story.

That footwork is not just people picking on him, it is probably a huge barrier to his potential success. All the passing comes from a base and if it is off the throws are hard to trust.

OTA optimism is fools gold tbh. It buys nothing. We have seen the skins and shirts all stars enough times to know what that is. We will need real football at real football game speed which we won’t get even in preseason.

That said I expect him to somehow make his way to somewhere in QB tiers or rankings to maybe low 20s. Gotta win 6 at least for that.

My opinion is if they can make a playoff run with a 4th tier QB then fine but I’d just as soon go over to the side of those who for years held out for a QB capable of taking the team to and winning a SB. I am not thinking he is that guy so far but taking this year to find out is necessary.

Only Young can tell where that goes and everybody just has to wait for real football.

I actually agree with everything you've said here. My comment was directed to the posters who feel the need to derail threads with the same Bryce talking points over and over again. It's just tiresome, even if what they're saying has some truth to it.
