Hoover: Panthers in 'opportunity to fail'

If Hoover hates it so bad, he should take his own advice (at least, the advice portrayed on this advertisement he posed for on a AAA advertisement I snapped a shitty photo of on the very day of his release)...

That ad read, "Join the Winning Team" and had a pic of Hoov holding up a Panthers AAA card...

If the Panthers are full of fail, go ahead and join a winning team, Brad... We'll be glad to let Tony Fiammetta lead the way as we run all over their defense...

you might just get what you wished for!:D . Remember we arent superbowl champs yet!:P

If someone signs Brad Hoover and they win a Super Bowl, good for him... he wins...

Odds are that even if the first thing happens, the second one won't...

Again... Brad Hoover is not the be all/end all at FB for the Carolina Panthers... He's not even the best we've ever had... more like the 3rd best... Howard Griffith and Bob Christian were way better...

Sure it was a money move. It was also a move to get young and lets Fiametta and Sutton who have shown promise get some more reps. The truth is we might not be all that great this season but we will be lean and mean after the lockout.

Who knows, but Brad Hoover is not the be all/end all of FBs, now is he?

of course not. but was he the best on the current roster? that could be argued.

the funny part about this is this qoute from the article.

"Wide receiver Steve Smith expressed similar sentiments recently in the wake of the wholesale purge of veteran players that swept up Hoover, quarterback Jake Delhomme, defensive end Julius Peppers and others."

Smith's comments:

I think he deserves all the accolades and all the things he's going to experience ... Is he a young guy? Yes, he is, but everybody at some point was exactly where Matt Moore is. If he puts in the work, I think he's going to be as good as he wants to be..

Replace Matt Moore with Tony Fiammetta...

Also in the same article:

It's sad news...I lost some friends. My wife lost some friends that are moving away that were unexpected. But one day, I'm being released as well.

Sure, Smith is still a Panther and Hoov isn't, but how about the irony of how the supposed hot-headed immature WR sees the situation as opposed to the savvy FB veteran who knows when to hold his tongue...

You guys realize that when Hoover said we might be setting ourselves up to fail, he was talking about cutting multiple vets and removing a big chunk of leadership at the same time? Not just switching fullbacks?

Ah, nm. ololol he's just an old fb ololol
