See, we have this fire ant issue... Long story short, I was letting her try her hand at the pressure washer (I borrow my dad's) as she likes to try out stuff like that from time to time... Wearing flip flops, and decision making process muddled by the feeling of getting bit by several fire ants, she decided to sweep the PW across her foot to get the fire ants off... Bad idea...

It was only for a split second, but she cut them nearly to the bone...

funny, i borrowed my dads last year too and was pressure washing in my flip flops. had my hubby not warned me to be careful around my feet i would have done the same thing.

Totally agree w/ cookinbrak. The $200-$300 pressure washer will not do you much good for the 2nd story of your home. They are great for cleaning the deck, driveway etc.

haha! I even warned her of the dangers (hell, she even got on the roof and washed the top part of the house!) beforehand, but that split second of pain from fire aint bites, and a quick, careless decision almost left her with two less toes...

She had halfway kicked her foot out of the flip flops as she went across her foot too, and damn near cut the flip flops in half...

Then you don't want a pressure washer. Effective pressure is lost after 2-3 feet, so a water hose would do just as well. Plus, siding on houses is not installed to prevent water from coming in from below, so you could be setting up for a lot of troubles.

Yep, I washed my 2 story last year. I used a pressure washer but hand scrubed the whole house with a brush and someTSP and rinsed down with the pressure washer. Used a 30 foot ladder and a telescopic pole to reach "A" areas that were about 50 feet up. Took my father and I a couple of days and a lot of work but it looks 10 times better than a couple of my neighbors who just had their house "professionally" pressure washed. If you are going to do it, do it right IMO.
