Raiders are leaders McNabb sweepstakes

Get read for some false rumor monger accusations.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on NFL Live Monday that the Raiders are the "clear cut favorite" to land Donovan McNabb.

Per Schefter, the Raiders are reportedly not worried about Philadelphia's asking price or the fact McNabb is only signed for one more year. If McNabb landed in Oakland, the Raiders could potentially retain his rights with the franchise tag. (Although that could be near $20 million next year.)

We've heard a lot of different reports and rumors regarding McNabb, and Oakland's interest is a theme that runs through many. PFT first report Nmandi Asomugha's possible inclusion in a trade offer Friday.

Oakland's status as favorites for McNabb has a certain logic to it. Based on everything we've seen from Al Davis over the last five years, this absolutely looks like a move he'd make.

He has already stated that he doesn't want to go there.

Doesn't mean that he wouldn't play a year if he had to but what is the use of getting McNabb for a year? Unless they have their eye on someone in the draft and would like to give the rook a year to sit. I think we all know by know Jawalrus is a Bust. If you get beched for Gradokowski, you suck.

Doesn't really matter what McNabb wants. He never got Philly a title, and he's hated by a large majority of their fans. They'll trade him to whoever provides the best deal. Philly is notorious for treating their players like garbage.

he really doesn't have much of choice. as for the Raiders, who ever knows why the Raiders do anything? He would definitely be the starter, and i guess he could help out the guys already there. The Raiders have pieces of a decent team, somewhere deep in that black hole

I hate ALL things Philly(sorry to my philly brethren) but I would NOT want to see McNabb go there. Be a bad way to end things.

Go to a contender man..

that would be the noble thing for the Eagles to do. But they want value for him in the last year of his contract, rather than to keep him for a year and let him go for free. Kinda beat up considering all hes done, and that hes still a valuable asset. If he were set up w/ a contender, they could win now. But unfortunately its completely out of his hands.

This is a business. If the Raiders offered me the most value I would ship his butt off with a smile. Now if it was similar value (or even slightly less) to send him to elsewhere (out of division) I would have course send him to the one he wanted to go to. Fans get way to sentimental over players. Its more accurate to think of them as employees (although what other indusrty can you trade employees for draft picks..LOL).

LOL, now I feel sorry for McNabb - Oakland truly has become the black hole... talent goes there never to be seen again.

Laughing at Philly fans who are rooting for this trade and don't realize that McNabb is the only reason that team has been respectable for the last 10 years.

i wish that the panthers valued highly skilled QBs. think about it. as good as we were in 2008, we probably would have won the superbowl in 2008 if we had had mcnabb, instead of delhomme throwing our chances away against the cardinals.

i realize that he is old, and it would be a waste of money, but sometimes i feel like not having a really good QB is what has kept us from being a complete team.

Number of Super Bowls Donovan McNabb has won...

Number of Super Bowls in which McNabb has upchucked on the field...

Guess which number is greater :sosp:

You wanna suggest we needed a "big game" QB? Fine, but pick one who actually comes up big in big games.

You do remember that McNugget and the Eagles LOST to the same Cardinals the following week....don't you?

Philly is notorious for treating their players like garbage.

If by treating them like garbage you mean not hanging on to them too long because they are nice guys or paying them over inflated contracts because of who they once were then you are 100% correct. Me, I prefer having winning seasons year after year.
