Does the Canales era have a new vibe?

Yeah, I’m not a fan of HC playcallers.   He isn’t even an experienced OC.   Seems like a predictably bad load for him to have on him.  He needs to just be the cheerleader rah rah coach that manages the game.  Basically be Pete Carroll.

I prefer the manager delegating that to his coordinators. You could work up a system that took as much as possible off of the head coach’s plate to allow him to call an offense. It has been done (we may even be doing it). I prefer not confusing things with too many responsibilities.

Matt Rhule was a new vibe once upon a time.

Let's see Canales team in preseason and go from there.

Exactly Correct. Morgan appears to be filling the coffers with some dawgs. My hope is that Canales knows what he’s doing, and knows how to speak dawg himself.

It seems as though he likes and is in some sort of synch with Canales. It’s been a lot of years since we have had that I am good with giving then two unquestioned years.

I feel like halftime adjustments were an issue for Ron? Maybe I’m remembering it wrong.

What are these half time adjustments that you speak of?  I like the idea of the Panthers trying something new.  Maybe it will catch on throughout the league?

Yeah I didn’t intend to suggest they made adjustments, I just said Rivera and Wilkes were good at barking at dudes for sucking. Vs the Rhule high pitched yapping and the Reich dead eyes and mutter

Dude, have you listened to his presser's? He KNOWS football very very well.

He sounds like he does. Frank knew football very very well also. Coaching? Not so much. He's been mostly a wr coach. He's worked with a few qb's and 1 year calling plays. With the task ahead of him he better walk on water.

So what do you want then?

The vet coach? = Reich

The team builder = Rhule?

Im my opinion we picked up a young coach, who has a track record of helping under performing QBs. That EXACTLY what we needed. We have a sunk cost in BY right now so might as well throw everything we have to help his succeed. Given what this team has done with what they had, Im pretty happy with it.

Honestly, training camp and preseason will tell me a lot. Last year's preseason was one of (if not the) worst preseasons I have EVER witnessed. A lot of us even said it right away but got met with (lol it's only preseason.......vanilla playcalling......durr). I want execution in the preseason. 1st and 2nd string able to pull together some successful plays/drives and not look like the worst team in the NFL in all phases getting bullied by other teams 3rd stringers against our 1st stringers like last year.

Based solely on his pressers, I dig his vibe, and I am an agnostic-atheist. Seems like he is an emotionally intelligent guy, something Rhule severely lacked and I have no idea if Frank knows what that means.

He has energy and seems sincere when he talks, which Rhule never did, and Frank looked lost out there.

His answers seem thoughtful and less coach-speaky, which I find refreshing. He SEEMS competent, but I have no idea just how competent he is.

I'm interested to see how well the team Morgan put together for him does. There seemed like a more cohesive plan going into the offseason based on who we signed and drafted, and we haven't had one of those in years, it was just:

Step 1: Get QB

Step 2: Figure the rest out later

I suppose we'll see. It's nice having a dude with positive energy, not zero energy like Reich, nor coked up car salesman energy like Rhule.
