Cats' MOD Change?

I think we should all remember how priveleged we are to be posting on an internet message board, and most of us are being paid to do something else while we do this!

It's ok to disagree, hell, I don't agree with much of what KT or PSC say about this subject, but they're still good guys.

To me it's all about perspective, just be glad you are able to have this freedom and don't get too caught up in it. Sometimes you just have to agree to disagree and move on.

That's why, this post aside, all you will ever see from me is positive discussion about the Bobcats, the rest is a waste of time and blood pressure.

Quit being a turd in the punchbowl. This is world changing stuff going on in here.

You're almost there. Just a little more.

Now imagine if you asked your parents or grandparents and they broke down crying because 45 years ago they found their brother/son/uncle hanging in the front yard or a fuging cross burning in their yard.

But now I'm being a little too real fo yall.

But that has nothing to do with today.

Slavery and persecution are terrible. But, that has also happened to every race on the face of the earth....not just African Americans.

No, what it has to do with today is sweeping it under the rug.

Dude...that happened like...last Thursday! Let it go!

I'm just saying I don't understand what its like to grow up and mature in that type of environment. But I do know what its like to be treated like I'm less than human.

I just don't know what its like to be treated like that, day in and day out.

And it still happens to this day. Anyone that says it doesn't has their head in their ass or is the one doing it.

So lets all pretend its not part of the equation, because that will make it go away.

I understand why it pisses KT off, but me...it just makes me sick and ashamed.

You’re not being too real... My mother’s family is rooted in the deep south of South Carolina and my father’s in Prichard (Mobile), Alabama.

My grandparents when they were living had stories. My mother has 9 siblings, some of them worked for white people, but they weren't slaves. All of them experienced some form of racism. They all worked in the fields...All the older ones picked cotton which I heard was hell, the younger ones picked beans, corn ect.

My dad's side of the family experienced a lot of racism in Alabama. They have all kind of crazy stories.

But that was then, this is now. We can't live in the past or we will never go forward. Being a minority I know I have experienced the same quality of life as any other American born in the United States. I was able to get a good education, go on to college, receive a master’s degree in accounting. I Never had trouble finding a job. Never was refused service. I've been pulled over a couple of times... each was my fault; I even got a warning when I knew I deserved a ticket. I have good friends close to me who after leaving college has started their own business in Atlanta. I've met great people of all color race religion background and economic status.

But my life is in my control. I have been able to accomplish goals and do things I’ve wanted to do. The only roadblock has been any roadblocks I caused myself. Race has never played a role in reducing the quality of my life.

So I don't have to imagine, my family lived those times.

Yes, lets forget history so we will be doomed to repeat it.

Nothing like a good whitewash to take the old stains out of a broken down fence. (See what I did there?)

40 years in the course of human history is literally less than a drop in a bucket. May as well say it happened 30 seconds ago.
