ESPN: ''Team X'' after McNabb

The rumored trade was actually McNabb and Samuel for Asomugha, though an "unnamed source" later denied it.

Gotcha. Well if Philly did that, are they officially rebuilding like everyone says we are?

Either way, I hope McNabb gets traded regardless. I picked up Kolb off waivers last year as soon as we hurt McNabb, and wasted a roster spot all year long for him in anticipation of McNabb getting traded this offseason. If this comes to fruition, I've got my QB situation under control for FF next year. :D

Great post.

Possibly the best run-on sentence I've ever written

McNabb getting traded is one of those stories that gets brought up every offseason ("this is the year") but it never happens.

Maybe it actually will happen this year, but I wouldn't be terribly shocked if it didn't.

Related: PFT is printing a rumor of a Sage Rosenfels trade in the works (Raiders). If that were to happen, McNabb would make even more sense for the Vikes.

(not that he doesn't already make plenty)

Washington...

Short of a Herschel Walker type deal, there's no way the Eagles trade him within the division. Mike Shanahan and Bruce Allen aren't dumb enough to offer that kind of deal.

They may want him, but I don't see any chance they'd get him.

If Oakland trades a young, shutdown corner in his prime for an aging, stop-gap solution at QB, they deserve the 5+ more years of mediocrity that will surely follow.

On the other hand, I have the Eagles D in my keeper league, and Asumogha and Samuel would be fun to watch.

Asomughas contract is flat out insane(top quarterback money), and he wants out of Oakland. Might as well get something while you can before he hits free agency(the way his contract is made makes it very difficult to use a franchise tag)
