Sad to see Turbo and Pesce go but I think we all knew that was inevitable.

Pesce declined a few years in a row.... Turbo finally made an effort again in a contract year..... I don't think they are as heavy of losses as many think.

I think some things will be addressed via trade but it will likely be waiting on the outcomes of Jarvis/Necas.

It looks like next year is going to be the year that a lot of young guys get a chance.

in itself i didn't/don't have an issue with this. And our main point has always been that we didn't want to be one of the go for it all teams at the deadline because we have a window that has term with Slavin/Aho/Svech/Jarvy.

however. keeping martinook above market value and not combining the youth influx with things like changing things at goalie and or signing a big name as a guentz replacement just feels like so far we're kind of sitting this out, and i really dont like the idea of taking a large step backwards from pre deadline roster last year. i understand we've given this a run with the same guys and it hasn't worked and changing some things there. but we also know exactly what our glaring issues are. so to not get better at those while also getting worse/losing big time names in other areas is pretty disheartening thus far. Hope there's more to come.

I think it will be a transition year will be a playoff team (more grindy and young blood) but not a top contender... but in 25-26 back to being a contender IMO Nickishin will be ready to do day 1 IMO.... and if we can get some of these young guys the experience/development FUS/Blake/Nadeu/Morrow

we can look at it this way - we have been a playoff team for 6 years and always came up short so we can do it next year with different guys and maybe Kooch can go God mode and we can make a serious run - [see Vancouver this year]

thought we'd see Turbo return, bummed to let him walk as he and Aho just shouldn't be apart. but I get it, Turbo hasn't been the same player for us the last couple years and really not an ideal style fit for the current makeup of the team and trying to compete in the playoffs. Plus we will use that cap space on Jarvis/Necas.

Love Pesce but yeah that was inevitable and honestly his play dropped off a cliff last year, and I think will only get worse as he ages. I truly believe Chatfield will be better than him going forward starting in 2025-26 season.

    • I'd rather figure out a way to get Howell from Seattle.  I think he would do really well in Canales offense.  I also think Howell would do great with this offensive line. Thoughts?
    • 30 points a game. People were hoping to get 17-21 with Young at Qb. This week will be a tougher defense sure would be nice to eat off their plate.
