Panthers Select Ja'Tavion Sanders TE - Pick 101, Round 4

He should become a starter by season end as he is the only TE that can catch. Brooks should eventually beat out Chuba and XL should start pretty soon. That’s 3 pretty high percentage starters from this draft. If Wallace can successfully replace Shaq next year it would be a very successful draft. Considering we had no first and walked away with a pick in each round plus a future 2nd that’s a solid job so far.

Brooks doesn't hit the hole like Chuba, I'm taking Chuba when you need that 1 yard since we apparently don't want a true power back

Calling an NFL player a bum while you type this message from your couch. That’s funny.

In fairness, the couch belongs to Rent A Center, but if he makes thirty-one more weekly payments, it is his free and clear.

He's worthy of being on the roster for the grunt work but not at his salary. Ideally he would stay at greatly reduced salary.

Unfortunately TEs are either receivers or blockers. I heard it said Gronk was last true TE

Kittle is the full package. Dude is violent in the blocking game

This is an insane catch, and I love that he foreshadowed his days with the Panthers by having a non contact injury at the end of it (I kid - hopefully)

Lolll what? I think you're confusing starter with a one yard pickup. Brooks is a explosive every down back. Chuba is good but not on the level of Brooks youth, speed, hands out the backfield and lack of wear and tear are all heavily in favor our young stud he'll be the starter at some point this season. But I definitely expect Chuba to contribute at a high amount throughout the season if we're what we plan on being a run heavy team.

I guiess that’s a Texas thing. Brooks had some a couple of one handers in a clip I saw.

just like XL, he's going to need a couple years.....I doubt our fan base will care.

I don't think so. I would bet he plays some this season. He will be a full time starter by the end of the season if not sooner. Who's his competition? His only limit is how fast he can absorb the playbook.

Right, he shouldn't even look at Ian Thomas' reps lol. There is no vet to watch behind, I think he could be out there game 1 if he gets the playbook down. We finally have no ties to Ian Thomas on staff

Unfortunately I think they may keep Ian 1 more season. I personally wouldn't, but they may need him for the run game. At least that would be the only reason to keep him if there really is one.

I just look at vids, looked like its going to take more time. all these guys need weight room and sanders is no different.

It normally takes longer for TEs and WRs than RBs and QBs.

I don't think Ive seen sanders block anyone. TB didn't barely use the TE last year by my findings.

Still love the pick and its my fav, but sanders needs to diet and learn to block fast.

You are right, tremble is his only comp, (gosh he's still sooo young)Without looking they maybe within  a year of each other.

Need to see the offense in action.

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
