If there's a WR or OL so far ahead of the pack to be worth trading up from 36 to 33 then we should just take that player.

yeah I been toying with the idea that carolina doesnt take a wr until 65.

I’m fine holding at 33. Same with 39 unless the Raiders or Rams are calling with a juicy offer for a QB.

Otherwise, I think we should monitor the guys falling in R2 and if there’s a real for sure impact dude we want, use one of our fifths to do a 3+5 swap for a late 2nd+6th.

An up-down package to assure an impact talent, where you don’t lose capital, is what I prefer.

There's going to be a player at 33 that can help us.  Don't fug it up, just take the BPA.  Don't reach for nothing, not even WR

But that's just the thing. This draft is so deep at WR, that a few guys that would have been 1st rounders in previous drafts, will be available in the 2nd and early 3rd round. Now, which WR they choose... well Panthers have been known to pick the wrong WRs in the 2nd round. They love themselves some TE type wideouts that can't create separation.

there’s not going to be any “1st round talents” sitting around in the 3rd and there’s a substantial drop off from the second level to the third

Lot of guys being overvalued by the outside world

There's a good chance someone drops from the 1st that can help this team.  I'm fine with the draft even if we don't choose a wr

39 could be in play. If able to only move down and stay in the top 50 and gain a third it could be an option. The 33 is our statement pick. I think we will swing for the fences on that one.  A top tier WR in a historically elite class? Yeah let's do that. Even if 6 WR's go in the first we got options. Pearsall, Worthy, Coleman, or XL.  I hope only 5 go in the 1st cause in that case somebody slipped like a Ladd or Mitchell.

if Nix or Penix drops, there’s definite potential to drop down a few spots, still get a guy we like, and pick up an extra 3rd this year or 2nd next year. I wouldn’t want to drop too far, but a few spots for a 2 next year would be golden

I guess that's subjective. But where do you think Zay Flowers, Quentin Johnson, and Jordan Addison would be drafted in 2024? They were drafted in the 1st round in 2023. I think a guy like Ricky Pearsall would jump all of them and he's projected as a mid 2nd rounder this year. I think guys like Corley, Worthy, Malik Washington and Jalen McMillan would compete with them in the first last year, but they're fringe 2nd rounders, mostly 3rd round targets this draft.

Recency bias, all of those latter guys would go behind the first rounders. Pearsall played the majority of his snaps from the slot.
