Mark Jones

I think we can do better than Jones. We really need to find a returner who can catch the ball as well much like we found when we drafted Smith. This would be the draft in which to do it. I bet there are guys out there in the mid to later rounds that will be overlooked much like Smitty was due to size concerns. I hope we find that guy this year. We also have a few guys on the team now that should get work at returner like Mike Goodson or Dexter Jackson.

He was a top 5 returner when he played for us. That's not "mediocre" by any means. Yeah, he never hit the home run, but if you put Double Trouble on the 50, they will.

forgot to mention this... I believe he was Top 3, but I don't feel like checking..

regardless, mediocre my ass.. people just think of speed and automatically discredit him. His numbers speak volumes against such nonsense..

someone said we didn't want him at the time.. that's when I started harping on that decision.. let's say we kept him and that 1st year was a fluke.. who the hell did we have returning when we let him go? I do believe he would have been our very best option.. never mind the numbers he put up when we did have him..

one horrible decision was letting that dude go.. there's no debate about it.. doesn't mean we can't find someone to replace him later on.. however, you replace the guy, you don't just let him walk without another option when he's the best returner we've had in years, and was one of the top returners in the league...

that's one of the worst decision's this staff has made..

I hope we take Jordan Shipley in the 2nd. He could be a viable #2 WR right off the bat and has some real skill in the return game. Pick up another good receiver with downfield speed in the 4th/5th, somebody like Armanti Edwards as an UDFA to compete for a return/receiver spot and we'll end up with something good.

Shipley in round 2? Really? He's a Day 3 guy. If he's there in the 4th or 5th I hope we take him but not in the 2nd.

i'll never understand the mark jones jock sniffers

sorry dude, but until you have a replacement... you don't just ditch a quality guy who just placed top 5 in the league for returns..

the "what if he sucked the year after" discussion is irrelevant when you don't have anyone else to take his place and he just placed top 5 in the league for returns..

it's ludicrous... especially when you have a guy like Fox who plays defensively/field position and we haven't had a decent returner in years.. it baffles me.

Mark Jones isn't the end all be all, but for f**ks sake... look what we had last year.. how many fumbles did we have? and letting Mark Jones go was a smart choice? not eveeeeen close..

lol... hell no.

Uuuurrrhhhhnhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don"t be disresbpcting mark jones losing him was a misteak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mark Jones was one of the best returners in the league when played for us. The year before, our return game was pathetic. The year after him, our return game was pathetic. But yeah, you're right. Mark Jones sucks and getting rid of him was a good idea.
