Did Scott Fitterer draft any good players?

Real question that we will obviously have to wait a few more years to answer. But have the Panthers actually “hit” on a player since the Hurney days? Horn I guess is good but very injury prone. Outside of him, Brady Christensen I guess? Otherwise it’s mediocrity to downright sh*t.

Nobody would listen to me back then. I'm getting used to it now.

Horn is elite when healthy and was the right pick. He’s better than Surtain and the injuries couldn’t be predicted. Ickey is really good, one down year in a clusterfug of bad coaching and Mr. No Pocket Presence doesn’t change that. I’m confident he’ll get back on track. Christiansen and Chuba are decent.

There's no way at this moment I would consider Ickey "really good". Even in his rookie season he struggled mightily in pass protection.

I’m not really sure where the “he was so great as a rookie” narrative came from.

If cj Henderson didn’t exist he would’ve been the goat of that second Tampa game in which he had a number of key whiffs.

obviously as a rookie you overlook it but then he was horrid last season.

Hes physically talented and the option always exists to kick him inside (or does it?) but I have concerns. He was a key conduit for how bad the line and the offense was last season.

    • He can say what he feels, but he's not saying "the previous year, the team wasn't very good" he directly called his teammates out and in a way that is flat-out not true. "You are your record"? Oh ok, he's only had 3 winning seasons, but in my mind he isn't a loser, and I bet he isn't in his either - cause football is a team sport and wins and losses are on the team, even when one really bad player (Jimminy Pickles) can basically screw over everything.  And this comes on the heels of his thing about the MVP, which is fine, but also selfish. His teammates consistently went to bat for him... Just feels like he's more about himself.
    • Good point--I think this draft is great for us at this time--At the top of the draft, the DT (DEs/NTs in 3-4) are loaded.  The Edges are deep.  We need to double dip there--hoping to move back so we can add three players to that pool.  In free agency, if I were Morgan, I would focus on DBs and  ILB--fix the back end of the defense.  If he signed a S, CB, ILB, and TE, it would be cost effective.  In the draft, DE, Edge, and WR should be the priorities.  After that, OL Depth, QB depth, DB depth, RB depth.  My Free agent Targets:  TE: Juwan Johnson, Saints.  29, had over 500 yards with Saints. S: Julian Blackmon, Colts.  He will be one of the top free agents--gonna cost us, but not like an edge or WR. ILB: Tyrel Dodson, Dolphins.  80 tackles on just 854 snaps--under 27 years of age. CB: Mike Jackson, Carolina.  He is 28 and had 3 picks and was on the field at all times.  68 PFF score. NT:  best available for Evero's system.
