It's interesting to see how this has played out.... Netflix came around and put Hollywood and Blockbuster all but out of business, now Redbox is threatening Netflix....wonder what will be next.

Whoever is the first to give us unlimited streaming of new releases for a monthly fee. Netflix's line up of instant stream movies is pretty poor.

Why would I want to get a redbox unless I just had to have something right then and there at the store?

Redbox is counting on you to be late so they can charge you more. Netflix does not care. I can stream a bunch of stuff on Netflix. Netflix has bluray available.

Redbox is a child distraction device. Mommy buy this, it's only a dollar!

icefilms.info has the best quality streams that I've seen on the net. Many of the tv shows are near HD quality and I generally stream 1500-2000 KB/s. TV shows are usually uploaded within an hour of their first air time. I'm thinking about just dumping cable. Between my Netflix subscription, an antenna for local channels, and all the online sites dedicated to movie and tv uploads, there is no point in paying for it. I'd rather just upgrade my internet to the faster tier.

So yeah, I went to blockbuster today and they lost that DVD. They told me they cannot do a thing about it and I will have to pay $24 fine. So stupid... I did not argue, thiefs can have their $24 but I won't rent from them ever again.

Netflix here I come.
