I don’t know how much I believe this but a local TV news reporter said she was sitting next to the supervising official and he called one of the refs “lazy” and said that ref should have jumped in on both those high sticks as the low official view was blocked on both.

He’s still around I’ve seen him in multiple broadcasts lately. They don’t cut to him in crowd shots any more so he’s been showing up behind the Bally crew desk nearly every game during intermission and post game.
