Let's Not Get Ahead of ourselves Part II

Earlier, someone posted a thread entitled, "Let's Not Get Ahead of Ourselves" so I wanted to add on to that.

As I glaze through the board, many fans have NFCCG in their sites, many are hoping that the Eagles will pull it off and we will see a Eagles/Panthers NFCCG Round 2. However, as much as we would love to see that, let me remind you that we too, have a game to play as well and against a dangerous Cardinals team.

A couple of things I want to point out: This Cardinals team are no slouches, they didn't get to the playoffs or won the NFC West for no reason, you know? In fact, for years, this was a team that many predicted to be a playoff team from the beginning but it just never panned out until this season. Now they are hungry and want to get to the Superbowl bad. Now, I am not saying that we don't but I just don't want you guys to overlook them.

Another thing, we have already faced them once this season and won that game but barely. They played us tough in our own yard and could of easily won that game if it wasn't for Beason stepping up. They want revenge! And it could easily happen if we are not careful.

While we are the favorites to win this game, this doesn't proclaim us victorious. Bringing you back to 2005 when we made our second playoff trip under Fox. We were underdogs to the Bears, no one gave us a chance to win based on what happened earlier that season and yet we won. 2003, nobody believed in us, that we would go all the way to the Superbowl but did. Nobody believed that we could win the Superbowl and though we didn't, we came so close.

So who cares what the spread is in Vegas? What matters is who comes out on top. I am optimistic that we can do it but I am not going to walk into this game cocky. Whomever wins this game, will deserve to be in the NFCCG but both teams should be proud of what season that have had.

Just my two cents

Arizona is a house of Cards, pardon the pun. They went 6-0 in their division, 3-7 against everyone else. Warner is soft. Give him time, then yes, the Cards are dangerous. Rush him, and he starts throwing interceptions. I bet you the Panthers have at least one Pick Six in this game.

    • I forgot about Jackson...definitely elite.  The sad part of your list is that 2 of them were 'there for the taking for the Panthers'.  Rumor has it that Hurney loved Herbert and was vetoed on trying to trade up.  And rumor has it that Frank & McCown wanted Stroud.  I believe both rumors.
    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
    • The lack of production is especially surprising given how much effort the team put into coaxing the best from him.  In just six short years he’s had the opportunity to work with 3 different GMs, 7 different head coaches and 10 different starting quarterbacks.  There’s literally no excuse to be made that one of those combos didn’t work.  It might be time to look withIAN.
