no, competition that will, hopefully, end up as a solid backup. if moore could beat out kevin kolb in training camp, i'd have a hundred times the confidence in him, and kevin kolb is provably a great backup.

I'll be surprised if Kolb gets traded, no matter what they say. He's still young and could very well be the future for the Eagles. So that leaves and aging Donovan McNabb and Michael Vick, and I don't see McNabb agreeing to a trade where he will have to compete for a starting job. That leaves Vick...

I don't think McNabb has a no trade in his contract so ultimately I don't think it is up to him but I also think the Eagles don't want to send him into a bad situation out of respect for him. From what I hear, Buffalo has been trying hard to get him along with a couple of other teams that need the help.

"Insider" reports from the meetings say that this is what the "asking price" is now:

Kolb - 2nd

McNabb - 2nd or even high 3rd if it is a good situation for all involved.

Vick - Just ask nicely for him and then provide transportation for him from Philly to his new city.

Weird situation that team is in now and the FO has a tough decision to make which means they will probably not make any and keep all 3.

McNabb is great but he would create a controversy that the FO is trying to avoid. We need a vet who wants to be a backup/mentor, but can win off the bench. McNabb will have people calling to bench Moore, but when McNabb has the occasional bad game people will jump on the Moore bandwagon.

Kolb will not be traded, Eggles FO view him as the "future" of org, forget it, and imho the eagles will not trade McNabb to a NFC team esp. not us, and I'm not even going to say the "V" word on this forum

Kolb would not be worth trading ANYTHING for. There are many FA QB's out there right now that can be a backup. The only reason people have such an obsession with him over Moore is because he was a 2nd round pick. What has he done that Moore hasn't? NOTHING.

and even though I have my issues with McNabb(one of the biggest post season choke-artists of the past decade) he wouldn't need to compete if he came in. He'd be an instant starter. but again, not worth the trade.

While Moore was good at the end of the year, you obviously haven't seen any highlights from Kolb's games last year.

Of course the Eagles will consider trading them....because they could lose any one of the three and still be set at the position, and because the league has been relatively weak at the QB position for several years. Why else would a solid team like the Vikes consider tolerating another year of .....Favrewatch

If properly protected, McNabb probably has 2 or 3 years of football left in him. But, Kolb will be expected to start for the Eagles sooner rather than later, and that creates a conflict of interest between McNabb and the Eagles. Especially because if McNabb played for the Vikings or Cardinals this year, either team would be very likely to make a playoff run. Both teams recently plugged in a fading but accurate passer with great success. They could very well try it again.

Oakland or Saint Louis are the only teams I can imagine taking Vick. Both teams basically have no reputation or identity to lose, nor do they have an offensive scheme that is working well enough not to justify complete overhaul, which is what relying on Vick would be.

Kevin Kolb will start for the Eagles at the first scent of poor play by McNabb, they've already proven that. The only way the Eagles will trade Kolb is if they get a superstar young player, ridiculous pick compensation, or both. He will not be leaving at a reasonable price, which is all well and good because Kolb is not much more proven than say our very own Matt Moore. His price is not worth the risk.
