I've got no beef with guys having their religious views and all, but when we've got natural disasters killing people all over the world, I think it's a little stupid to think your god, whoever that may be, is going to help you with a football IQ test.

Like when guys hit a home run and point up. God doesn't help you hit the long ball, no matter how much you pray.

I can't help but be reminded of something like this that I saw at a church basketball game. I was part of a church basketball team for a year, but my team broke up. The following year, I went to a few games to watch some friends play. Before every game the players are led in prayer by the ref, or a team leader, or a coach. They pray for a safe game ect. Well there was this one black guy, who was an incredible basketball player, but he didn't attend the church for which he played. That church had brought him in as a ringer, to help them win games. This black guy was notorious for not praying at games, not closing his eyes or bowing his head ect. So finally, during a pre-game prayer, one of his teammates turned to him and said "you need to be praying with the rest of us." The black guy responded "your people invented this nonsense, so you pray." Needless to say, he was later kicked off the team. People in general either have a desire to worship and pray to something, or they don't. If they don't, then I think it's rude to try and force them, and they'll probably respond with rudeness.

Why do people have to pray before EVERYTHING. I figure one in the morning and at night would cover you.

I kind of like it when I see people pray before a meal as it's a kind of way of saying "thanks for the nourishment".

But like praying for a successful event just seems redundant. If you prayed in the morning for protection and success then I'm sure God is smart enough to figure out you meant your Wonderlic test.
