I get the feeling Mr. Scot don't like me no more... lol

I explained that it didn't matter to me what the hell they did... I just find it humorous and hypocritical... a facade...

In reality, I don't give a fug about it though... More power to them... Smitty is one of my favorite Panthers of all time, and he always points to the sky... If he wanted to debate religion, I'd debate it with him too... and I'd use the same tactics I use here...

If you are passionate about something and use strong enough rhetoric, the opposition is more likely to eventually hear your argument and appreciate your point of view... Ask any preacher that does a really good job with his sermon and he will agree...

Somebody mentioned Reggie White on here. I'll bet no one would have told HIM to "STFU". And that no doubt implies a double standard. My guess is if The Golden Calf of Bristol shows real promise as a QB, his teammates will put up with most anything, as long as he's respectful to them. That's what plagued Kerry Collins here, his teammates didn't respect him because of his partying and some other things. Maybe all Tim needs is to 'get some'. perhaps he'll have a new perspective on things if he does.

Someone did tell Reggie to basically STFU back in the day...

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/news/1998/07/16/white_commercial/

"He should have been wearing his minister's garb, not his Packers uniform," Dan McDonough said. "I don't appreciate his using his persona to hurt people."

McDonough argued against the advertisement's message, saying his deceased mother was a Baptist and his deceased father a Catholic, and they respected him.

You know.... for a moment, I actually thought you would engage the real debate. So much for intellectual integrity.:leaving:

hmmmmm

i see a lot of arrogance in arguments by both sides of the fence... not just in this thread but in general.

the truth is there's not a huge amount of difference between theism and atheism when it comes to faith. because the conclusion of "god" or "not god" is based entirely on evidence, it takes a lot of faith in your non-belief to reject the vast evidence, scientific and philosophical, that there is a god, and likewise it takes a lot of faith in your belief to reject the vast evidence, scientific and philosophical, that there is NOT a god. without faith we would all be agnostics.

The biggest issue I have with Christianity is its basic premise. Believe in me or burn in hell forever…

So basically you have an omnipotent being who has created everything including myself who will ensure that I suffer for eternity if I don’t accept him as my savior? WTF?

What a great way to get converts from other religions and non-believers through 2000 years than this scare tactic.

It’s almost like an ego thing. I created you, you little ant and if you don’t bow down before me and accept me than you will burn…

Why would a god require my servitude?

I could basically live my life as a good person of the community, invest my time and money in local charities and still burn forever if I didn’t accept Christ…

There is no such evidence.

If I'm wrong then present it.

OT: If this is true then The Golden Calf of Bristol is a presumptuous moron.

you display arrogance in declaring that no such evidence exists, ignorance in believing that the sum total of such evidence could fit in a message board post, and absurdity in expecting me to try.
