I love Smith. He never sugar coats anything. The fact is if we still had Jake Fox would have started him no matter what. If I was in Smiths spot I would have demanded a Trade also. I think that right there was the wake up call JR needed going forward. I think he saw that Fox will never see a SB and he had to take control.

so you're saying a 22(? not sure) yr old Golden Tate in the first and a 22(? not sure) yr old Arrelious Benn are both less than one 30 year old Steve Smith? Fact of the matter is, no team would give up a 1st for SS at this point in his career, just like no1 gave up a 1st for JP when he was 29 yrs old.

Im happy SS will probably retire a panther but to think that 2 young WR's, one of which being a smitty clone, are less than smitty is ridiculous when you factor in the all too important age number.

I have to agree there's no way of proving Tate will be like S.Smith until he shows otherwise. Let me see him break acouple tackles show the same passion for the game like Steve then maybe then you can say he's a Smitty clone.

Well, Rocket Boy, think about it- we're gearing up towards mediocrity next year, with the possibility of a lockout the next year. If you're Steve Smith, do you want to hang around two or more years waiting for a team to rebuild? Cuz he ain't getting any younger.
