Donovan McNabb

He took several hits in that game, and ended up with bruised ribs. Never broke one if what the org. said is true. Still, people have played with far worse. I don't hold that he lost that game by himself, the Panthers just demolished them defensively. However, he didn't do anything to help them win it, either.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb confirmed Monday what was painfully obvious on Sunday.

McNabb, 27, separated rib cartilage in Sunday's 14-3 loss to the Carolina Panthers in the NFC Championship at Lincoln Financial Field.

and i think he did as much as he could with what he had. his WRs were pinkston and thrash and they got bitch slapped all over by ricky manning jr. mcnabb was not the problem in 03.

When he is on....he is great. However, he is not consistent.

this.

however, i will never understand the playcalling of andy reid. jeff garcia did very well on this team because they mixed up passing and running. but with mcnabb in (a far superior athlete) all he does is pass pass pass pass...yet receivers are not important.

sometimes i wish we could see how mcnabb would do with a different coach.

Without Andy Reid's philosophy of any-receiver-off-the-street I think McNabb would have even more incredible numbers. Jackson looks like the real deal, but the rest look like training camp fodder.

Training camp fodder? They aren't nearly that bad. Curtis is a pretty darn good WR.

There are quite a few teams that have a much lesser WR core than the Eagles.

Hopefully Jackson can be the next Steve Smith.

But how much better could they be with that big #1 receiver that stetches the field and lining Curtis up in the slot where he would excel if you ask me. To this day, I miss "what could have been" if TO stuck around.

I like what I see out of Jackson...I just hope he keeps a level head and doesn't turn into that pain in the a$$ primadonna WR that he already has shown small signs of becomming.

You might get your chance....unfortunately, it could be with Lovie Smith or Brad Childress.

McNabb and Childress worked together in Philly and would be a great fit I think. Although I don't necessarily want McNabb out of Philly, it would be great to see what he could do with that running game that Minnesota has to support him.

If McNabb had either

A) A #1 guy (Fitz/Boldin/Moss/Smith)

or

B) A city that wasnt mean as fug he would be easily in talks with Manning/Brady as the best in the NFL.

I think Philly errodes peoples will, espcially people who aren't born there.

Rockets is right, the TO/McNabb saga will always be a what if story in my book.

Don't always need that BIG WR. Just look at the panthers.

Jackson looks legit. Look at all the other rookie WRs who've came into Philly. None of them could see the field because of not knowing the play book and or not being able to perform. Jackson became a starter. unreal...

As for him being a primadonna, unfort, it's part of the package. Off the top of my head, out of all the elite WRs the only one I don't see as a primadonna is Andrea Johnson.

Jackson has been mentored by the great Jerry Rice since school. He's off to an amazing start. If he turns into what it looks like. I'll take the baggage...

Calvin Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Lee Evans, Torry Holt, Fitz, Boldin, etc....there are quite a few out there....just saying.

Evans and Holt don't really belong with the crop. But yea to the other guys. Not really sure about Calvin Johnson, he's too young and doesnt get much coverage.

All in all, with the busts the Eagles have drafted at the WR position, we've had some 'nice' and 'quiet' guys who weren't very good. IE. Pinkston. I'll take his baggage if we drafted a Steve Smith type player.

I'm sure there's plenty of panthers fans who get disturbed by some of Smiths actions, but it's all forgotten when he has a 2 TD, 100+ yard, 10 reception game. :)

Usually I agree with you on most things but Calvin Johnson doesn't get much coverage????!!!! Who else are they covering on that team?

I don't mind a receiver with an edge about him and like Jackson having a bit of cockiness about him. If you don't believe you are good then you won't be. From day one they say he walked into camp like he had been in the league for years and I like that. Not really worried about him being a problem child though, just mentioning that I hope it never is an issue cause I like the kid.

Shame we didn't have someone like him that grew with McNabb when they both started in the league. It would have been interesting to see what McNabb's numbers would have been if he had that Manning/Harrison, Delhomme/Smith, etc. connection with someone cause it never happend. Reggie Brown I think was supposed to be that guy and that never developed. Thankfully that long experiment appears to be over.

I just I know absolutely nothing about his personality. That's the coverage I'm talking about. I've honestly never even heard him speak. Which I guess is a good thing, but I'd have to give him a couple of years before I can judge him.

Look at Roy Williams. The guy never ran his mouth in Detroit, goes to Dallas and he's bitching. lol
