Fox &Hurney Draft history/ trends

A few things I noticed.

1- Fox and Hurney are viturally perfect w/ their first pick (Peppers, Gross, BEASTON Gamble, Davis, Williams, Stewart, Otah, Brown*)

* still a question mark--potential starter

2- 2nd & 3rd round Gems- Foster, Marshall, Martin, Witherspoon, Ricky Manning (pretty good panther), Travelle Wharton, James Anderson, Godfrey (yea i know, work w/ me).

Honorable mention- Charles Johnson, Dan Connor, Brown

3- Linebackers- the Panthers have a knack for drafting very talented LBs

Concerns:

1- 0 notable Receivers drafted. (no, i don't think Carter or Colbert are notable, even though i mentioned them)

2-Defensive Tackle-- Nick Hayden, Atiyyah Ellison, Corvey Irvin. :eek: i guess Irvin still has a shot...

I completely agree though, I don't think there is a team better at drafting in the first round.

Hayden's not as bad as people make him out to be. He lost weight to be faster off the line, then they asked him to play the nose. Not too many second year DTs will be successful in those circumstances.

No mention of Dwayne Jarrett. But yeah i do see a trend we should probably not trust Hurney and Fox to get a very good WR or DT in the 2nd.

would be nice, but now it seems like r trend is to not have a first round pick..... cheap ass JR trying to get away from paying rookies first round money which I am all for, but damn, look how good we draft when we do have a first rd pick :cheers2:

the scouting director we hired after the 2006 season has been amazing at finding talent in the lower rounds in the past few drafts.
