Peppers makes himself at home

I've argued this point in other threads but obviously you missed it so here we go again. Playing a game like football, being a DE, and "not trying" affects more than just the stat sheet. It's a violent sport and it is very demoralizing to see a guy just going through the motions and collecting a check. It's why Beason called him out. Beason understands what it takes to be a leader, while Peppers couldn't lead the team out of a wet paper bag.

no poo, but someone brought up the sack item.the argument was ja is a better football player than pep, thats why i throught that out there.all you have to back ja is his effort.so now face palm yourself chief.

I was thinkin about that sh!t the other day....its like deja vu all over again....

or I wonder if Otah can road grade his @ss... If you want to take Pep outta the game, go watch the first game we played against Atlanta in 2009. It was textbook....

im lazy, can you just post a link? :D

Allen had 15.5 sacks in 14 games in his final season in KC.

And quit playing semantics. Peppers is not a better football player when he's not contributing as much to his team as Allen. If he'd get his head out of his, stop blaming everyone else for his failures, and give it 100% like the true greats, he'd be a better football player.

why say stats are not important but then bring them into your aguement.i cant deny that he is good, and his effort is great. but when someone makes something look like theyare going through the motions but still busting your ass speaks for its self.

The best all around DE is without a doubt Jared Allen and it's not even close. He's OUTSTANDING in run support as well as pass rushing. That's what separates the good from the great.

Peppers is good in run support too so I'll give him that, but not as good as Allen is.

Pepper is going to do fine next season and most likely look like the player he was earlier in his career here and the 2nd half of last season. He has something to prove and is going to be happy with his change of scenery. If I was a Bears fan with a need at DE, in an uncapped year, wouldnt mind and probably be happy if they brough in Peppers. My cousin is a Skins fan and thats what he was thinking.

That being said, I wish the Panthers got the hint after Pep didnt sign the long term deal in '07 and had traded him for picks back then.

I am looking forward to seeing how the Panthers D turns out next season. It is going to be interesting to see. I think they will be fine and might even surprise some people.

Basically, all he's saying is that he relishes the privacy he couldn't get here. .

Yeah, buying how many bottles of $350 champagne for how many people is a good way to get his 'privacy'.

He's wealthy, he can do whatever he wants. If he thinks the spotlight will be less on him in Chicago, he'll be sadly mistaken.

He probably has three to four years left at best, no one will care about him when he retires. He can have all the privacy he wants.

Poor poor Julius, the millionaire loner wanna be....oh to have his problems.

Oh no! All I have to back my arguments is 8 seasons of watching Julius Peppers display questionable work ethic! I guess I should go face-palm myself now chief champ buddy sport!

Over the past 3 seasons, Peppers has 27.5 sacks. Allen has 45.5. Peppers has 141 tackles to Allen's 169. Peppers has 2 more forced fumbles and two more interceptions. Allen has 2 more passes defensed. While I haven't seen Allen play as much as Peppers, I'd venture to guess that Allen has never been humiliated the way Peppers was by Witten. I'd take Allen.

yeah but we all now 07 was his fug it year.yet you still bring up stats after you said stats were not important.....

"3-4 years left?" How can you possibly say that? He's 30 years old, has not had any major injury to the important areas (knees, ankles, hips) and keeps himself in amazing shape and conditioning. That's just silly to me to say he can only play the game for 3-4 more years. Bruce Smith (and I'm not comparing him to him- just saying they have similar physical attributes) played for 18 seasons and he didn't show a real decline in production until his 16th season. I'm only saying that he could easily have 5-7 more seasons in him.
