so if we dont make the playoffs next year will everyone be okay with that?
as long as the team played hard i'll be fine. if we get into the playoffs...fine. i always want the team to do well and this year will be no different.

i've maintained all along that i don't care about this coming season as much as i do the ones coming after it and that we are in good shape going forward. i still think that we will be fine next year.

if not...we'll have more reason to get a new coach and that won't bother me a bit. the new coach will have a nice young roster with a lot of room for growth on the roster and the cap. pretty ideal situation for a new HC, don't you think?

just gauging peoples expectations this year. if we are so set on defense and all we need tis matt moore and a #2 wr then we should go deep into the playoffs with this current schedule. that should be expected barring major injuries. anything else would be a dissapointment.

if they dont make it that far there should be outrage and NO excuses about them being young and needing more time to gel together.

yes it actually is the best situation for a new coach, which makes me think that jr planned it this way. as good as a business man as you guys say he is he would have thought of this avenue. thats what good business men do.

why is that? is it win it all or be pissed and screaming for heads to roll?

come on...it's a young team that is building that has a solid core to work with. you can expect or look forward to a wining schedule without expecting them to go deep into the playoffs. i'm just looking for potential to be shown. if the team shows steady improvement throughout the season the we have more reason to raise the bar higher in following years. right now the bar is set at an 8-8 season. anything better than that is gravy.

i do believe he had in mind creating as good of a situation for the team going forward and he used the uncapped season to his advantage. i do believe that he is ready to go forward without fox and wants to have the best situation for whoever follows or for fox to build on if he is retained (which is unlikely).

i don't believe that richardson is sabotaging the season or purposely stacking the deck against fox so that he doesn't win. he doesn't have to do that. fox's contract is up. if he wants to keep him around he will try to. if not he will just start moving on. you will see a situation very similar to peppers in that we just made plans to move forward without much in the way of hoopla. he doesn't have to make fox look bad to justify his moving on. he doesn't have to answer to anyone in that regard. it's his team. if he wants a new coach, he'll get one and he doesn't have to create a situation to make his decision look good.
