Yeah I am exiting right behind you. No, not literally for you simple minds.......

Don't you have a sense of humor? And don't even say you were saying "simple minds" out of humor. Do you think you are the only person with any sense of comedy and intelligence around here?

Good point. After I leave though it will be like the moon. No sign of intelligent life.

But there are signs of intelligent life on the moon; you know, that flag, the footprints and such?

Or are you a conspiracy theorist too? :coolgleamA:

you know that schedule isn't going to look so bad. look at these teams records from last year...

Atlanta 9-7

New Orleans 13-3

Tampa Bay 3-13

San Francisco 8-8

Arizona 10-6

Baltimore 9-7

Cincinnati 10-6

Chicago 7-9

AWAY

Atlanta 9-7

New Orleans 13-3

Tampa Bay 3-13

Seattle 5-11

St. Louis 1-15

Cleveland 5-11

Pittsburgh 9-7

New York Giants 8-8

home games will be against tougher opponents...5 of the 8 games are against >.500 teams but we typically are stronger at home so that should be pretty balanced. we have a pretty record against a few of those teams (atl, nos, ari) so i could see us with 4-5 wins easily.

the away games look really attractive. only 3 of the 8 games are against opponents with >.500 records. i could easily see 4-5 wins on the road as well.

i know some sourpuss is going to come along and say that just because a team was bad last year doesn't mean it will be bad next year...and they would be right. bravo for pointing out the obvious. equally obvious is that some of the good teams will not be as good as they were last year. what we have is this little thing called balance happening.

which panthers is going to show up next year? jake's or matt's? unless i'm mistaken it will be matt's team. why would they do any worse than last year? did anything happen to shatter his confidence? has there been any loss on offense that the team will not be able to recover from? i'm thinking no. moose and hoover will be missed off the field but on the field they can be replaced. one thing about matt, he takes the passing game to another level and uses receiving options consistently that jake did not. he protects the ball better and gives the offense more options. chances are we will be seeing the playbook open up quite a bit this year.

on defense the only big loss is peppers. remember that we will be getting davis back so there is a balance there. davis lined up on peppers side. i'm not sure who will be on the right side of the line...usually goes to the senior player so it will most likely be brayton or johnson. either one of these two guys are able to apply constant pressure and while they won't command double teams, remember that peppers didn't much either. it wasn't until after davis went down that peppers started showing up. both johnson and brayton are very strong...i'd give johnson the edge with another offseason. as far as missing diggs....it won't be that big of a deal. he was a rotational player anyway. DT isn't something i worry about. we got some good prospects around who should be able to step up but we will also have the same pool of talent to choose from that we did when we found thomas, leonard, diggs, vincent, or any other FAs that came in and played big for us.

This may not be a superbowl bound team or even a playoff bound team but there is every reason to believe that with improved QB play and a still solid defense as well as one of the best run games in the league that the panthers will be able to have a .500 or better season against that schedule.

so if we dont make the playoffs next year will everyone be okay with that?
