Will Jake turn into Joe Montana again this year?

For all the criticism Jake gets from the media, from opponents and even from us, there is something that happens to this guy when he plays in the playoffs. He is a different QB. At least so far that's what he's shown us.

It's kind of amuzing, but the guy who had one of the worst QB ratings this year in a regular season game, could be the same guy that has the best QB rating in the post-season. That is of course, if you were to believe history which is all we have to go with right now.

What is most impressive is that Jake showed that from his very first playoff game. For some reason, he shines when the team is down in the 4th quarter, when it's 3rd and 11 in double over time in the playoffs, or when you are throwing bombs and your opponent's captain happens to be Tom Brady in the Superbowl.

Jake, attribute it to him being crazy, or so fired up that he just pushes away the pressure other QB's feel in situations like this, is exactly who I would want as my QB in the playoffs. Sure there is Ben and Eli. And veterans like McNabb and Warner. And yes those guys may have better stats, names, and better physical talent than Jake, but even though Eli has a ring I still feel Jake is the better leader who will make things happen when and if the game comes down to the wire.

I almost feel more confident about us winning a game when we are down by a touchdown or less in the 4th quarter with Jake behind the ball then when we are up. Someone just needs to teach him and our coaching staff how to finish the games off when we are up by 10 points instead of getting all conservative and letting teams catch us.

But I think there is one hidden stat that the NFL, the media and the rest of the fans don't know about where Jake is without a doubt miles ahead of the competition. And that stat is: "Ball size".

And I don't mean the official one. I think if we were to measure the balls of all the QB's in the NFL, Jake would win by a land slide.

"Delhomme has a passer rating of 95.0 in seven playoff games, five of which the Panthers won. Of the other quarterbacks in this season's playoffs, only Arizona's Kurt Warner (92.3) approaches Delhomme's postseason excellence as a passer."

I agree. Although, he usually pisses me off in the regular season most games, I feel very confident when he takes the field for us in the playoffs.

Also, one of his better games of the regular season came vs. Arizona. That mixed w/ his history of success in the playoffs and how hot our run game is right now, has me feeling very good about this team come game day!

    • Honestly, it wasn't on him last game. There are many other reasons that come before Bryce. Dave Canales is really starting to worry me. I mean there are glaring issues that can't be excused. I said back when the whole Rico/Chubba thing happened. I said right then that you cannot have a coach that handled those 4 or 5 games the way he did. I get it, most thought that he was trying to throw games, which was not wrong thinking because of how bad it was. The decisions right before half. The strict "Chubba gets this drive and Rico gets the next." It's seeming like a lot of our backups are the better talent, so he cant evaluate talent. Not calling a quarterback sneak because of size. Small quarterback have a different type of advantage, just not as good as a large quarterback, but still doable. Then he doesn't even explain why he didn't put Dalton in there (saying it would give away a quarterback sneak is...just stop). I honestly think he forgot about putting in Dalton. There are so many others that I'd have to re-watch the games to remember.  I could make a whole other post on that defensive game plan...absolutely awful. And a quick petition...see the quote above, can we please ban these weirdos and try to clean this place up. This is peak reddit right here and these losers will destroy the board. I couldn't make it though 3 pages because these morons post more than anyone else. These are the perpetual online freaking weirdos banned from getting too close to schools reddit mod types. Get these losers out of here. You got these freaks posting a ton and not answering the question OP posted ABOUT THE PANTHERS. This is supposed to be about football and this dork constantly tries to attack OP's question. Could you imagine someone in your real life group acting like this? You'd kick his butt out immediately. And you have this reddit loser trying to stop people for posting about the Panthers. Any normal person would just skip the post, but you have to remember these morons base their whole personality on their online persona. They would be banned almost everywhere else. Send him back to reddit, they will be a cancer to this place, trust me. I guarantee you he has more comments than 95% of accounts. These guys are the lowest in society so they live online. Its everything to them. You dont want that. Just read his responses. Do background check on that guy, there are younger people on this too and he probably isn't allowed to be talking to them, or be on here at all.
    • Neither of them are getting in. Cam had HOF potential but was squandered by Ron, Shula, and Gettlemen.
    • We have attempted several over the past two seasons. Maybe two successful?
