I miss Jenkins. I don't get attached to players like I used to. Back in '97 I was Kevin Greene's biggest fan. When he left to go to San Fran, I was a devastated. I don't know how I would react if Peppers or Smith left for TB. I'm glad I saw his last sack against NO in his final year in Charlotte / correct me if I'm wrong

that was just a bad misfortune for everyone. i know that what is done is done, but i have hated that trade ever since it happened. if only we still had him in lewis' spot... as good as our team is, imagine i the pass rush was twice as good. our secondary would also look better. oh well, he would rather go to a chinese buffet than show up to camp in shape i guess.

yep because having a locker room of 20 pro bowlers with no chemistry is the winning strategy that got Dallas to their 16-0 record this year. Not saying that i dont agree with you that I wish Jenkins would have been a different person but he was a horrible person and got what he deserved.

I would have loved to have kept Jinx if we could have just gotten rid of his god damn ego. Unfortunately he just didn't want to play for us and while we do miss his on the field ability, more than a few Panthers have pointed out how much of a drain he was in the locker room.

Kris Jenkins' personsa changed a lot during his tenure in Charlotte.

He was "Big Kid" at first, a good teammate and a guy everybody liked. Over the years though, a combination of domestic issues (the flap over his child), injuries, alcohol, overeating and letting fame go to his head changed him.

He became the personification of "do as I say, not as I do", calling out teammates for being lazy and halfhearted while he himself was perpetually showing up out of shape for camp. In the end, he was nothing like the guy the Panthers drafted, and was becoming a locker room cancer.

Kris Jenkins has only been gone from Carolina for one year.

I really liked Jenkins. And in all honesty I felt the same way he did about the Panthers at that point. It did feel like their heart just was not in it, and we were underperforming for the talent we had on that team. It seemed almost as if they stopped playing for their fans and for Fox for awhile there. But some of that could be attributed to the post-Superbowl loss effect that a lot of teams go through, especially for a young team like Carolina. It was so huge for us to be there in 2003, and so unbelievable to even a lot of the guys on our team, that I think a lot of players didn't believe they could repeat that feat any time soon.

However, Jenkins did indeed need to look at himself as well, before pointing fingers. He may have been part of the problem. Either way, no hard feelings here. IDK how if it was Fox that did it, but there does seem to be a change in attitude this year where our team is just playing with a lot more passion and fire than they have the past couple of years.

You can blame it on a lot of different things, but you don't have to look much further than Peppers' numbers to see this team is just playing on a different level this year compared to the last couple of years.

So whatever the reason, Delhomme being back, Smith suspension, Peppers being in a contract year, Moose being back, Fox being on the hot seat, Kris "Big Mouth" Jenkins getting traded, all the stars aligned for us this year to be where we are today. I just hope we can finish it this time.

This should be our slogan: FINISH IT! No more losses by a field goal in the last seconds of our biggest games, like the 2003 Superbowl or the Giants game eariler this year.

We just need that little extra "heart". That little push that will get those 3 points in our favor this time. We were every bit as good as the Patriots in that Superbowl, and every bit as good as the Giants 3 weeks and someone has to win the game. It's about time that we start acting like the team that belongs and stop whining about not getting respect.

Maybe he'd get an extra sack or tackle for a loss, but he'd extend a drive or two and/or give away a free play that might turn into a lot of yardage. Why in the world did we give Lewis a new three-year $14 million extension in 07'? What does he do on passing downs? Nothing! You know who we need? A DT like Marcus Stroud when he was in his prime. If we had a guy like that at Lewis' spot then I think we would win the SB. But Lewis just sucks. I mean the Rams had to come to terms with it. Maybe now it's our turn.

Jenkins was a great player but he was a cancer in the locker room...when a player starts infecting other players with his opinions and attitudes, the team is lost....case in point; T.O. and Dallas.

The Panthers got Jenkins out of here before any damage was done.

Jenkins sucks. He disappeared for the last quarter of the Jets season when they needed him most. Being lazy, eating and drinking too much don't contribute to you body's ability to last an entire season. This was a motivated Jenkins with something to prove. He will go back to being bored and underachieving again very soon. Good riddance.
