And everyone but the Titans slept on Chris Johnson.

Not everyone. I saw him at ECU in person quite a bite (both cousins went there) and I could tell he was special. All those concerns about him only being a burner were crap. I actually think CJ Spiller though could be better he actually is much better between the tackles then he is given credit for. He also is tough as nails and played for much of this season with toe/hamstring issues and still was head and shoulders over everyone he faced.

And I had actually predicted that we would get stewart at 14. He fit what Fox loves in a back to well. I was wanting Otah at 14 and Forte in the 2nd but I digress.

as did I. Boy were we all wrong.

Speak for yourself!

I called the Stewart pick, so I was pretty stoked that we were gonna have a dominant run game for years, after the Panthers had never had one at all...

As far as Chris Johnson, I was trying to tell people here that he was gonna be sick as hell in the NFL, and people were laughing at me and saying he wouldn't go until the third round...

I spoke highly of Devin Hester, Jairus Byrd, and others too that were underrated coming out of college...

Maybe the Panthers should employ me as a scout or something... :)

we still might not be. He's certainly the real deal, but the titans might run him into the ground.
true, if they continue to give him so many touches.

check the 2009 stats below:

Chris Johnson - 358 Rushes + 50 receptions = 408 touches

Steven Jackson - 324 Rushes

Thomas Jones - 331 Rushes

Adrian Peterson - 314 Rushes

Maurice Jones-Drew - 312 Rushes

I think we an all agree CJ isnt built like any of the other guys listed here and really cant be a workhorse like this forever without some serious damage. but here is what i found really awesome:

Jonathan Stewart - 221 rushes

Deangelo Williams - 216 rushes

the other teams in the league that lead in rushing all have 1 stud RB that gets ran into the ground, thus causing them to fade down the stretch (see AP, T. jones), but with our system our guys are as fresh as week 10 entering the playoffs.

I called it too. I wasn't sold on D-Will being the "bell-cow" back and we had been looking for that big back Fox covets since Stephen Davis' departure. Most experts said if it weren't for the toe issue, Stewart would have been a top 5 pick. I thought if the injury did not concern the staff and he slid to #13, Hur-Fox would not pass him by.

This is the reason I'm pissed about not having a first rounder....again, is becasue I'm typically correct on calling our guy. The one I have been most incorrect on was Beason. I totally did not see that one coming. Otherwise I've been dead on with the guy or AT LEAST the position in the first round.

Another one that I called that hardly anyone saw coming was Thomas Davis. My friends said I was idoit if I thought we'd take a safety in the first round. Man, there was enough crow around that day after the draft to feed the African continent.

I wanted us to pick Jeff Otah with our first pick. I liked jonathan Stewart but I thought we could get a power back in round 3 or later that would contribute. I was going to a family members Birthday party so I was monitering it on my phone. I was just arriving when I checked it and saw a picture of Stewart under Carolina and I was disappointed. Of course 5 minutes later I was happy to find a TV and saw us get Jeff Otah.

I was surprised they picked another 1st round running back, initially. The guys in charge were finially truely making a commitment to the run, with some talent. I never thought that Williams was on the way out, or in the dog house. Knew that Fox was going to pound the ball with 2 very good backs!

I was so exited I was jumping up and down. I was hoping for Stew from the first draft mag I bought. I admit I was wrong about D.Will. I did not think he would become what he is. I did not think he was bad, but I never would have guessed he was a top 5 RB. Even with that said I still love Stew and dont regret the pick. Funny thing about this draft is when Philly came up to pick, I was joking with my brother, (who is a Bucs fan) and said Carolina has traded back into the first round and picks Jeff Otah. Then as soon as I said it, it happened. No lie!

I was pissed.

Knowing there were LTs there and we get that guy...then when I saw the Philadelphia trade with us...I knew it was Otah. I was in my buddy's river house drinking beer and let out a few yells with that move.

I did the non-happy yells with the Everette move last year though. No 1st rounder sucks donkey balls.
