me neither. but wouldn't you like to know? Id also like to know what hes having for dinner. no reason

I think Jake is there for leadership reasons.

One of Cleveland's biggest issues IMO, that and general lack of talent.

How good is the leadership if he's an INT demoralizing machine in the end?

Off the field? Excellent IMO.

On the field? Highly streaky at best, but he always brings everything he has. Just in the end, it wasn't enough.

The Panthers lost roughly 80% of the games Jake passed more than 30 times, while winning roughly same % when Panthers threw less than 30. 30 Pass Attempts is the NFL average, for Jake to be successful the Offense has to be a below avg. passing offense.

Interesting stat. So the less Jake touched the ball, the better our chances were to win.

It's a good thing that Vick in his career has done well when asked to throw the ball 30 times or more. Oh snap, nevermind, his career record is 3-9-1 in those situations.

Delhomme had Steve Smith in his prime, a Run-First minded offense and a coach in love with him. Now he's old and has a bad elbow and no passing accuracy whatsoever. In Cleveland he'll have no good receiver or running game to fall back on, Cleveland could use someone with atleast some scrambling ability for that situation.

Vick atleast has raw talent

Guess who else has raw talent? Jawalrus Russell.

and I do agree Delhomme is done, and should be a career backup. but that doesn't mean Vick is good because he's better than Delhomme. Given the choice of either starting, I wouldn't want either.

Scouts are saying the same things many of us on this board have been saying. He never could pass and he still can't. As we have said, now he approaching 30, is slowing down and will continue to get worse as he ages since he only had speed in his favor. Add in that as he ages he will be prone to injury and it is clear that no one that knows football wants him as their quarterback. Those who want him here have to ask themselves what does everyone else know they don't??? Or what great knowledge do they possess that eludes all the GMs, scouts, and coaches in the league. Because they aren't rushing to sign him, possibly because of the draft picks but more likely because they know that in this era of saving money he is damaged goods and isn't a viable quarterback option anymore unless you are desperate.
