You don't win 7 games with a garbage QB.

If you feel Fileds is garbage I would hate to hear what you think Bryce is...

I would trade Bryce for Fields in a heartbeat.

Sure you win 7 games with a garbage QB, we just did last year. Teams do it all the time. Fields is garbage and Bryce is worse than garbage.

so the least talented team with the lucky 2-15 record needs to trade another byce young-like package for WR that is demanding to be the highest paid WR??

this is a huddle dream if ever, but whom am i to crush it......

carry on.

Bryce Young like package? Who said anything about that? The most I’ve seen floated was by me and that was Burns and a second.  Burns might be too expensive anyway, so it really doesn’t seem like that high of a price. Especially if we’re going to lose Burns anyway, whether this year or next after tagging him this year.

it's because we know the reality of the situation. we aren't one or two players away from being really competitive. if we blow our load on one elite player, that's going to hurt our chances of getting more good players to fill in the ranks.

you go all in for one and it makes you really top heavy. top heavy things fall/fail easier.

Every need you leave unfilled has a ripple effect though. If the recievers suck what would that do for Young's development? I'm hesitant on trading Burns because I remember how not having a good pass rush crippled the team on both sides of the ball. You're not wrong but kicking the can on a need is as big of a decision as investing money into it.

Thats my opinion of the type of package needed for the best WR thats only 25. Didnt mean to come off as you were silly about any trade offer.

I did believe its not the right time to add JJ given the current state of panthers being the least talented. Plus in order to do so give three two 1sts, two 2nds(maybe more) and pay him 30 million per. If we were talking 2015 or 2017 panthers, fug it worth the risk. This team is de-void of talent and needs years and lots of hits in the draft before making a move like this. Plus I have huge doubt the viking would value burns above like a 3rd. They have a DE type and BB isnt it, they are one of the best drafting DE/edge teams in the last 8 or so years.

If it would take firsts, then I agree hell no. Most I’d could stomach is Burns, our second, and maybe late pick like a 5, 6 or 7.  But I actually think Burns does fit their profile, if Danielle Hunter is any indicator. They’re built similar and Burns is just a bit bigger (I think) and much better.

AJ Brown was traded for a 1st and early 4th a few years back.....I would suspect it would take at least that for JJ, so a 1st and 3rd at least is probably right

Anyone that doesn’t want JJ smokes crack.  Every single team would take him.  No wonder this fan base is awful coach GMs.

It's honestly kind of weird.

Grown men who think they are paying for these players. Like people we are fans. Since when do we turn down elite players?

pssshhh... it's not a matter of wanting JJ or not. it's not wanting to pay $35mil a year.

Justin Jefferson contract projection

  • Years: Five
  • Total value: $170 million
  • AAV: $35 million
  • Guarantees: $110 million

There's little doubt that Jefferson will be the highest-paid receiver in the NFL when he signs his extension. The only question is exactly how the deal will be structured given that he is expected to be the NFL's highest-paid receiver by all metrics.

We don't have the assets to trade for him. I'd be glad to take him at $29 million but we simply don't have the resources to acquire him via trade. What kind of package would you try to put together? No first this year, no 2nd next?

Nothing weird about actually understanding how the NFL works instead of thinking it is like Madden

If we could use Burns in the deal maybe we could get something done?

I'm not taking this rumor seriously because the Vikings have already said they want to agree to a deal. Just saying every time a elite player becomes available it's always we can't afford them.
