Average Draft Position

I know alot of people use mock drafts to get an idea of where players will be drafted. The problem being that even the really good well researched mocks will often have a few players well off of their "usual" spot just from the makers personal preference. So I thought showing the average from multiple mock drafts would give a better overall picture of each players value.

Realize that these are just averages, taken from hundreds of mock drafts. They are useful to give a general idea of where a player may be picked, not necessarily the exact spot. For example, a player taken #1 overall in half of mocks and #5 in the other half might have an ADP of #3, even though he is never once taken at that spot. Please understand this concept before posting stupid comments like "durrr no way TB takes Clausen at #3!!!!111 durrrr".

Note on compensatory picks: Though they haven't been announced yet, I added 4 compensatory picks at the end of round 3 and 3 at the end of rounds 4 and 5. This should fill out the rounds somewhat and help us better judge a players value relative to which round they are taken.

Note on P/K: There were very few mocks that included punters, kickers and other specialists, and the info was all over the place. Since it seemed impossible to get any kind of reasonable ADP for these players I didn't include any of them.

Note on late rounds: The first round picks are averaged from several hundred mock drafts, however not every mock made includes all 7 rounds. Because of this, the later the round the fewer the mock drafts it is based on, so take that into consideration.

Although I cleaned up and changed alot of it, most of the original ADP information comes from DraftDebacled. Please let me know if you see errors in anything listed so I can fix it.

Please let me know if you see errors in anything listed so I can fix it

Maurkice Pouncey seems to be missing from the lists. He's a Center from UF. Will probably go in the 2nd round, might have been an oversight.

Nice list though. thx.

lol I had him mixed up with his brother and thought he was returning to school.

Florida junior offensive lineman Maurkice Pouncey (Lakeland, Fla.) will declare for the 2010 NFL Draft, while his twin brother Mike Pouncey (Lakeland, Fla.), also a junior offensive lineman, plans to return for his senior season.

Will go fix it, thanks.

Do you think this info might be skewed from all of the really early drafts that haven't been updated?

Some mocks are pre-combine, though most combine scores (no matter how good or bad) are close to what was projected so that shouldn't effect things too much. You should bump a player up or down from this list if their combine was significantly different than what was expected.

Keep in mind that according to last year's pre-combine projections we got the #1 DE, OG, FB, and MLB. Things were a bit different closer to draft day.

Depends on what projections you go by I guess. I don't remember any mocks with Brown being the first DE taken. Fiammetta was the first FB that was drafted, and did we draft a MLB and nobody told me?

OG, Robinson was slated to come off much higher than where we got him. So yeah, this is just a guide to give you a general idea. Crazy things happen on draft day, I'm sure there will be a few examples of players taken much later/sooner than where they are listed here.

I think this would be more useful if, instead of using hundreds of fan mocks, you used 10-15 mocks from people who actually know their stuff. Also, if you did that it would be interesting to see the average of the highest two or three and the average of the lowest two or three projected slots for each prospect. That would give a real sense of the range in which they may be picked, and would identify who the more risky prospects are.

oh yeah I forgot connor was 08. He was the #1 MLB then though, Mayo didn't beat him out until very late.
