Panthers sniffing around Cleveland to see what Quinn would cost?

Can you imagine if they had listened to Scherer and drafted Quinn 3rd overall...

The day before the 2007 draft, Scherer strongly urged former GM Phil Savage to consider Quinn with the team's first-round pick at No. 3 overall. That endorsement ultimately helped persuade Savage to trade a future No. 1 to Dallas to take Quinn later in the round.

uhhh, I'd rather take a chance and hope we can draft a diamond in the 4th round rather than trading it for Quinn, who would be nothing but a backup.

all rather have a decent backup who can come in and win a few games for us if needed. Then go with are FO track record of drafting QB's

I'll never understand why some people always think that a player who sucked ass somewhere else is going to come to Carolina and be good.

If we had kept Jake as our backup, it wouldn't cost us any more money or draft pics. Wasting more money and a draft pick on Quinn while still paying Jake $12 million would be the stupidest move this franchise has ever made.

I can promise you that Quinn would love to be here. He couldn't get enough of Weddington/Marvin Ridge High School underage tail when he didn't even live here, I'm sure he'll become a fixture in western Union County if this happens.

Parents, lock up your teens! Brady Quinn may soon again be on the prowl!

I still can't believe these athletes haven't figured out the way to go with these groupies is bonus hole pure and simple. Go bonus hole on these chicks and you'll never put yourself in a Cromartie or Big Ben situation.

Agreed. If we're going to bring in another QB as a backup, let it be an experienced vet, not a project QB who was a failure on another team.

We have bigger needs this draft if we want to win now while our Smitty window is still open... :D

    • I call bullshit. Brady,Manning,Brees and Burrow are all just ball distributors. And the better thier supporting cast and more experience they got the better they got. Thier best attributes were between the ears.  Now I'm not saying Bryce is gonna turn into one of them but what I want is for him. Is to have a solid roster around him and some coaching continuity too see if he takes the next step. Because everything I've seen and read after the benching is that his mental toughness and workethic are what we need in a QB
    • Many criticize our picks in 2024. I believe that most of them were picked because their ceiling is better than those selected before them.  XLs needs to learn how to play in the NFL. Once he gets up to speed he'll be worthy of 32nd pick.  Brooks, showed why we took him in the few games he played. The ACL injury really sucks but he can overcome these setbacks. Remember TD had 3 ACLs and eventually will be in the ring of honor one day.  Wallace will be a solid LB going forward with experience  Sanders, TE is a tough position to play. He a getting valuable playing time and will become a good TE.  Going down the remaining draft pics all seem to have a good upside. They may not be showing much now but they will start showing their worth next season.
    • I think he's shown enough that if a QB fell to us at our pick we'd either draft a defensive player or trade down for more picks.
