you are probably right. Smitty would make a great defender. He cuts his routes off so much on offense, he'd be a great DB b/c he is never finishes routes. Heck, I haven't seen him commit to a route since 06'

I do believe this helps the Panthers with regards to his salary, I don't think it completely wipes the slate clean but when he was cut I am sure there is some sort of clause that is in effect when and if someone gets re-signed.

Panthers starting QB Matt Moore is my main man, but if Jake get the starting job, I will watch his progress and cheer for him,unless he plays the Pansthers

Jake should/could have a good year in Cleveland, and he should be able to beat out Seneca Wallace.

With one of the best TE's in football (Watson), and a good RB, Holmgren is building a team that will compete. Although they are in a very tough division.
