I'm actually addressing all these people who want to draft receivers and get some in free agency. These same people are saying Wallace Wright, Dwayne Jarrett, and Kenny Moore are the next big things. Two of those three wont be on the team if we follow their rout with drafting receivers and getting receivers in free agency.

Not I. I could care less if we cut every WR on the roster now, save Smitty.

Exactly. Why get rid of Moose who had 9 catches in the last game and replace him with another short term older player. If we start bringing in other over 30 players after releasing the ones we have, then the new philoophy makes no sense all.

I think Holt or Walker have steam left in them. It's tough to tell. Both came from pretty mediocre/awful offenses with question marks all over QB. I still would prefer youth.

T.O. has talent. But his negatives far outweigh his positives. I, for one, don't want him anywhere near here.

I agree, Owens (when he wants to be) is a HUGE weapon, however I just can't see Smitty or anyone else on the team for that matter wanting to put up with T.O.'s fugin' ego.

From a prodction point of view, TO would definitely be better. Problem is that you and I know there is no chance of TO coming here. Plus how much of a disruptive force could be weather when we already have some problems already and there is a serious lack of veteran leadership on the team to balance out his influence.

Holt is 33. Look at what Moose did after he turned 33. We are getting speed in the draft, this is Holt's home state, and he for sure has extra years left in the tank. Why not? We need like 3 WR pickups at this point at the least.

Like others said, maybe Holt to a 1 year deal and let him, Jarrett and a draft pick (Speedy one, preferably) compete for 2,3 and 4 respectively.

Edit: But honestly I'd rather just keep Moose and sign Holt. Moose is an important cog in our running system and still has some juice in him. He looked a lottt better when Moore got the starts. Not to mention neither will want too much I would imagine and Smith,Moose/Holt and Jarrett could be quite lethal with a guy like Moore who spreads the ball around so much.

Exactly. Its not about the veteran experience, which we have with Smitty, but at least a safety net by getting one guy you know can at least produce in some capacity. I just don't want to see us get only 1-2 wideouts from the draft and thats it for the position this offseason (especially if they end up the second comings of Jarret and Colbert). We need a for sure solid player other than Smitty with certainty or else Moore is going to have one hell of a hard time imo.
