Memorable kills in BFBC II

Just got this game yesterday.

The first sniper rifle sucks hard. The only way I seem to get one shot kills is poppin somebody in the dome, which I'm not great at at this point.

I love tanks though, they improve my k/d significantly.

Unless the person is already hurt, that's pretty much the only way to get a kill with any sniper. The m24 and m95 are actually my 2 favorite snipers.

Just practice. All you really can do. Only real tip is to aim about one head-length higher than the head you are trying to hit. But I can tell you that I have unlocked several of the sniper rifles, and I still use the M24. I believe it is the best.

Here's a quick sniper rifle overview.. which is mostly my opinion and how i like to use each one.

the VSS with red dot, if you burst, you'll get a headshot if you aim for the chest due to the tug upwards. You can use this like an assault rifle pretty much. Best close range with red dot/4x. Long range shots just don't work. Good for stealthy players/C4 users that like to do those occasional suicide missions.

type 88 and the SVU with 4xscope, 2 shot kills but if you double tap you can get those kills pretty quick. Good for players close to the action and well hidden. Mortars can take out buildings in rush. Their Long range isn't good, takes 3-5 hits to kill people. Headshots are possible, but improbable from long range.

M95 is 1 hit kill with 4xscope, close range. increased mobility so the bulkiness goes away a little too. Long Range is somewhat limited even with normal or 12x scope, the bullet has the power, but the accuracy just isn't that great from the ranges the next few can hit people from. 1 shot UAV destroy, nuff said.

m24/GOL/SV98 for long range. 12x scope. For those you can make the headshots from all the way across the map. m24 and GOL are more accurate, while SV98 imo has better range and a better scope. M24 is only slightly less accurate than the GOL, but it's got more power. Any of these can frustrate people on the other team if you find a good spot to set up camp. When you know you can't take the shot, tag the poo out of people. With Mortars from long range, you can be deadly.

You gotta customize these for the map. I know the snow map, you can go apeshit with the SVU/Type88. No vehicles to worry about. VSS is good on valpaipripripapi(the lighthouse one) in some sections.

Lastly.. this goes for all sniper rifles.. Tag before you shoot. It will extend your life and the life of your teammates. Don't be greedy for kills. You get a lot of points for critical assist (40) and Tag Assist (20 or 30), which combined is more than the individual kill(50). So don't get mad that someone is going to steal your kill. And if you're close to the action, use your motion mines. Typically if an assault guy on your team sees a sniper, he will usually put an ammo pack near them. Motions mines DO replenish from those. You just gotta keep trying to switch to them.

If people use some of the closer range snipers, I think it's possible to win a game with just snipers on the team. But when people line up in one spot... mannnnnnnnnn.

How long do the motion mines work? I mostly play engineer and assault, but I've played a little more recon lately, and I'm not sure about how long those things last. Also can you throw them...say 20 yards in front of you and get a warning when an enemy comes in close proximity of them, or do you have stay close to them?

Good tips on the sniper rifles. I predominantly use the M95 with 12x scope, and I've gotten fairly decent with it. I'm going to fool around withthe 4x scope though because using the 12x scope really takes away from the action.

I don't know how long the motion mines last, but i'd assume it's around 1 min. You can throw them as far as you can. so you don't have to be close to them. and all they do is when someone ventures into their radius, they show up on the minimap as red triangles. I've had some that have been outside of my minimap, but i still get the motion mine assist points for them because they've helped other people see people that are hiding.

I know a lot of people like to throw them straight down and sit on them so they know when someone is sneaking up behind them, but since they only last like 1 min, it's best not to do that.

Also remember, these replenish with the ammo packs too, so when you're getting more ammo, make sure you're getting your motion mines back too. The motion mine is the sniper kit's "teamwork" gadget, like the ammo/health packs and the repair tool. Always remember to use it.

I like to sit on a ammo pack and just spam them all over the map.

That beep has a mental affect on a LOT of players and you can scout a big area pretty quickly by throwing them all over.

So they are basically useless in hardcore mode then I'm guessing...since there is no mini-map.

pretty much. Although when you pause in hardcore, you do get a map, and sometimes there's red dots on that. So I don't know.. I've never bothered.

I don't like the nerf on the mortor strike vs tank.

Everything else is alright.. I usually use shotgun/m416 when assault so i'm not affected by that.

I don't use medic unless i really have to.. I'm not that good at it especially when there's tanks running around. So the nerf on the m60 doesn't bother me.

slightly disappointed on the carl gustav range nerf.. not really.. but i do have to admit that i run around with it and kill infantry just because I can
