Yes they are rather ill tempered I got right back up to the top and in the boat after it happened. Never had any issues with Barracuda outside of them just following you around under the water.

The one I saw (the barracuda) was just stationary as all these people were snorkeling...

Thing was at least 6 feet long though, and could have done some major damage...

Back to the shark thing.. yeah.. I'll be snorkeling from the beach, not a boat, and I plan on going out to at least a depth of like 40 feet... I know there will be some around, but hopefully not any hungry ones...
