Game 64: Clippers vs. Bobcats

Bobcats will face the Los Angeles Clippers tonight at the "Cable Box." We've now won 4 straight and look to be hitting our stride at the right time. Last month we faced the Clippers in LA and lost in convincing fashion. 6 Clippers reached double figures in that game and we did a poor job of defending overall. Tonight, I expect a much better performance from our guys at home. You also must consider the fact the Clippers have lost 8 straight on the road and 20 of their last 22, making this a "winnable" game for our Bobcats. We need to maintain the momentum we've built over the past week and continue to move up in playoff seeding if possible. GO BOBCATS!!!

Tonight at 7:00 the Bobcats face a Clippers team that has lost 5 in a row. I remember last game we played Clippers we lost a close one but it didn't need to be. The Clippers are a team we should beat and we need to make sure they get their 6th straight loss. It wouldn't shock me if the Clippers run zone against us considering that we take a while to get used to it. But regardless of what they throw at us the Bobcats need this win at home. Go Bobcats!

Gonna have to record this one since I'll be on my way to Asheville.

By the way, was the HD channel (TWC) for anyone else TERRIBLE during the Heat game earlier in the week. I ended up watching most of it on the regular FS channel.

It was fine for me, I wish more were HD. But who knows with TWC, there always seems to be some kind of problems.

    • Yes.  And this converts directly to confidence.  Does the coach have confidence to call a deep dig or seam route?  Does Bryce have confidence in his ability to be the Alpha?  Do his teammates have confidence.  About film--when I see Cam Newton's pre-snap confidence vs. Bryce's, it is night and day.   Film--tells you if the WRs are open (why l love watching the Replay telecasts from the end zone cameras--you can see it.  I have seen 2 WRs open and Bryce's eyes are on the outlet WR or the pass rush. )  You can see progressions, and he has improved a bit--but he is very quick to rush through 1 and 2 and checkdown--that is a lack of confidence in his ability to read the defense.  I had a former NFL TE (Deems Maye) who played QB in high school (not sure about college) tell me that the best QBs read the defense by knowing where everyone will be when the ball is to arrive--not where they are.  I think his QB at the time was Humphries.  He said that Humphries would throw the ball into coverage before the cuts etc.  because he understood DB momentum, zone areas, etc.  and he could just see it.  Said so when people say nobody was open, they are usually right because nobody should be "open" when the QB has the ball--when the ball arrives, everyone should be open.  He said Humphries was never "great" but his skills were limited--from a small school--but his ability to read a defense made him never give up on a route.
