Leadership is a funny thing. It being what 4 months away from the training camp i have faith that SOMEONE will right the SHIP to carry on your lame metaphor. Oh, and we have CAPT. MUNNERLYN so he is the Cpt. duh.

since you commented, who could be that someone

HOUSE has made some great points. It seems we are divided. Some have NO faith in the young replacements. Others are having a wait and see approach. People of the former camp have made their minds up in the off-season that Hoover, Diggs, Kemo Etc. Etc. are not replaceable. What the later realize is that it is a team sport and reloading is a necessary evil. No one player is more important than the TEAM ( PEP, JAKE ) The notion of salary dumping meaning we are rebuilding is silly. Sooner or later you have to allow your young talent to step up. We all know FOX is a vet loyalist. Deshaun Foster and Jake Delhomme both have been on the good side of that. On the other side MOORE and DWILL suffered and so did the team. We have leaders ( Smith and Beason ) that will unify the locker room. We have vets that can hopefully step up ( we will find out who they are.) So in closing i say. GROWTH MEANS CHANGE AND CHANGE INVOLVES RISK, STEPPING FROM THE UNKNOWN TO THE KNOWN.

It surely is salary dumping under the guise of getting younger and the ruse has apparently worked on some of you. The issue isn't getting younger and letting guys step up so much as it is dismantling the veteran leadership all at once. We have rebuilt at positions and turned over veterans with younger guys just like we did with Morgan by bringing in Beason. But we never made so many wholesale changes at once or expected so many inexpereinced new guys to step up all at the same time. Guys like Beason will be a leader but guys like Smith won't. He is a locker romm problem not a solution. Even now veterans like Williams and Harris are questioning these moves. That will divide the locker room not join it. And the reality is that a radical apporach wasn't necessary. We finished winning 4 out of the last 5. Our defense and offense were clicking. We could have gotten rid of Jake and Kemo for example without a big issue. But instead we went on a cutting spree and got rid of everyone over 30 save 3 players. We were already one of the youngest teams in the league.

Should we have made some changes, sure. But anyone can see this was alot more than getting young. This was dumping salaries and almost guaranteeing Fox will be a lame duck coach.

What if what if? The sky is falling, the sky is falling. I know i am new here but let me introduce myself... I am Panther fan through thick and thin, this upcoming year does not SCARE ME. It should not you either. Let me ask you something. Do you have less faith in Moore than Jake or Wienke? Come on man we have seen worse. Be excited this is gonna be an interesting year.

Let me introduce myself. I have been here, been a fan since 95 and saw it all. This year doesn't scare me either. I can read between the lines and see what is hapening without blind faith. Do I have confidence in Moore. As long as we win. But not necessarily if we lose. Confidence and momentum are tricky. If you have them you can be unbeatable. Once you lose them they are hard to get back. Moore has not expereinced adversity and likely wouldn't have if Richardson hadn't gone on a cutting spree.

Trust me I will be at camp and every home game this year. I only hope that the tailgates aren't the only great parts of my game day experience.

With the comments I've seen from guys like Chris Harris and DeAngelo Williams, I'm very concerned about the morale of this team right now.

I think allot of the "shock" factor of these releases will have dissipated by the time the season rolls around, but I still think it would be wise for the FO to reach out to these guys and help them understand what is going on.

I find it really odd that we haven't heard from Beason, but after the Peppers thing he may have taken a vow of silence.

My grand ma used to say worry is like a rocking chair it gives you something to do, but it gets you no where. Oh and would it be that bad if Fox is a lame duck? It might just be time for Cowher.

Worry, I have to invest approx 3000.00 in a season that could a wash-out

My mama always said that things don't get better just by wishing it were so. She also said that if you ignore the elephant in the room by pretending not to see it, you either get run over or covered in poop.

Cowher also said he wanted to coach for a contender. We will hardly be that if we do so poorly that Fox get fired. He can pick his job so it won't likely be us.

OK devils advocate here. So Moore would not have faced adversity if say Kemo, Hoover and Diggs old bodies continued to turn on them? Did you not see the way Jake scowled and yelled at Moore when he made a rookie mistake? Jake was basically saying "You suck and that's my job." I saw it. A non supportive "mentor" would have been MORE of a pain in the neck. Look man, i was not questioning your fandom BUT.. you need to at least watch a pre-season game before you say all is lost.

I'm not saying its all lost, but wholesale changes is not rebuilding, thats starting over. and besides you are not going to see anything in the first pre-season game

Not a contender huh? And Hooverfan says he is concerned that the season is a WASH!!! Dang yall change your tampons. Seriously, team after team makes similar moves. We draft well, we have a core of players, we MIGHT have a young franchise QB. Whatever. I give we are gonna suck next year. Happy now or do you need some chocolate and a Pamprin.
