What does Tim Ryan and Pat Kirwin think about our offseason?

Who have we let go that was an impact player? I dont even count Peppers because he only performed when he wanted too and that did happen until beason called him out. The fact is we still have a solid core of players and our turnovers will be better for the simple fact that Jake is not throwing the Football.

Peppers was definitely am impact player. But the point is not that we let one player go but we let half a dozen of our core players go who were all important to the team on the field and in the locker room. And to this point have not replaced them. What we have now are a bunch of unproven guys expected to all step up at once who could just as easily cave as succeed when things get tough. Moore hasn't experienced a losing streak with him in charge. Richardson has made that closer to a possibility. Lets see how confidence the veterans have in Moore if we lose instead of win. Lets see how Moore does when things get tougher. What you think is a certainty are surely not that guaranteed in my mind.

What impact did he have in the Cards game? The only impact player I saw was Beason who was pulling a Ray Lewis.

That is your analysis, because he didn't make an impact against Arizona, he isn't an impact player? Well that proves it for sure. You win. LOL:shocked:

Our pass D was one of the best in the NFL in the last 6 games or so in take-a-ways and forced fumbles. So it's the D-Line I'm worried about, as we have been poor in Run D with last few years.

I do believe we will bring in some decent players through FA, but a little later. And I believe we will do well within the draft as well.

And our O-line looked great with our backups in the last 4 games last year, and we do have Jonathan Stewart who keeps impressing me that's for sure. 206 rushing yards against the Giants last year, that's the most rushing yards ever against the Giants at their Home stadium!

Our biggest Offensive problem is getting a hot #2 WR, or molding one we already have.

... but I'm looking forward to next year, as I am every year.

Cheers- AnalyzeTHis

I agree and disagree.

When dealing with young, unproven players there is no way of telling how they will preform, just like they said. So while they may be right, they just as easily could be wrong. I'm not even going to go as far as saying Brown can't be a better opion than Peppers. I don't think think he will, especially in his first season starting but that doesn't mean it can't happen. You just never know when dealing with the NFL, younger or older players year to year.

I like the point they made though. It isn't about the players they released or the players they are hoping will step up. It's about the amount, more accurately the %, of young players they are relying on. It's a gamble; a huge gamble, no doubt.

For me though, I like the gamble. Not just for this year but for the future as well. And lets also be honest on both sides of this argument...How much of a gamble is it really when you have a running game like the Panthers have? As long as that o-line and Stewart or Williams is healthy, we will have the ability to be competetive in almost every game next season.

Someone asked in another thread how much did Peppers walking effected Richardson and the proceeding "youth movement". Here's another question that I think has some merit as well. How much did "discovering" Matt Moore last season effect Richardson? This does seem like the team is in a rebuilding or retooling mode but if you have your future QB already in the system, the best running game in the league, a superstar like Steve Smith and a lot of young talent just waiting for their turn; isn't that the best time as any to go into rebuilding mode? And thats not even metioning the uncapped year that gave a great opportunity to unload contracts without penalty.

You aren't serious, are you? Pick 6 & a forced fumble. Not to mention everyone else that had a pick. Watch these. Then stfu. Talk about being in lala land. :P

Anyone who cannot grasp the main idea in the OP is just completely dense. The more uncertainties you create = more risk.

You can say "Oh that Kirwin doesn't know about my team!!11" but you're ignoring what he's said, because he's absolutely right. If all these guys step up great, we are going to be awesome. But it's a big risk we're taking if they don't.

Funny how many of you discredit them and then state your own opinions as if they are more credible. Any of you work in football? Any even play? Any of you scouts?

Yeah that is what I thought.

lol you're right.

EVERYONE BOW TO THE VAST CESSPOOL OF FOOTBALL KNOWLEDGE THAT IS PAT KIRWAN.

Actually I expect that Ryan and Kirwin do alot of research each week before they talk to each of their guests. I suspect that much of the fluff in the interview are because Fox doesn't say much and uses coach speak. He talks to Del Rio for example the same day and the interviews are in greater detail because Del Rio tells it more straight forward. If you want to know what they know listen to the Xs and 0s discussions. Both of them are very knowledgeable about the finer points of schemes, blocking, coverages alignments etc. I have learned quite a bit about football from them.

Couldnt you argue that our FO knows even more then them? Im sure our FO has done studying and planning as well.

When we had Brayton, lewis, the first year, werent they unproven vetrans as well?

Core players? Peppers was the only big loss. Who did we lose that was so integral to this team, that can't be replaced with another average Vet?
