Draft these guys.

For some reason this site won't let me access the draft threads. SO...here is my two cents. It would not hurt my feelings at all to go WR in the 2nd and 3rd if certain players are available.

In the 2nd i like Mardy Gilyard. He could give a shot in the arm to our return game. Give Double Trouble short fields the rest of the NFL is in Big Trouble.

In the 3rd if Carlton Mitchell is there this guy is no Moose but...

Moore spreads the ball around better than Jake so why not hedge your bets that one or both of these guys can help. I just see QB,DE,DT as reaches in the 2nd when our number 1 need is a number 2 receiver and a kick returner. What i am suggesting is Double Trouble 2.0 the WR and Special Teams Version.

Two guys that can return kicks and rotate into the offense. So if you can buy into this concept give me your guys you like.

I worry Ford's 40 time is gonna push him to high for us. I mean Al Davis had to have seen that and thought Murphy, DHB and this guy we will have good receivers.

Jacoby Ford

Taylor Price

Andre Roberts

Dezmon Briscoe

Shay Hodge

Riley Cooper

Eric Decker.

I mean there is a lot of WR talent this year. I hope to get two that can play WR and return kicks though.

Its kind of a weird year for Wide Receivers...no real can't miss prospects. Almost all of them have some sort of black flag on their resume. Brandon Lafell, Marty Gilyard, Demetrius Williams, Benn and many others posted really bad 40 times and while I don't usually go crazy over 40 times it would be nice to add some legitimate speed to the WR corps. Other receivers such as Jacoby Ford have speed but it doesn't necessarily translate to on the field speed as shown during the senior bowl. He didn't blow by defenders there which is sad considering the lack of coverages they are allowed to play. Even guys like Golden Tate aren't locks, he might be maxed out as far as potential and he doesn't have the best hands on the planet.

To me the biggest bust might be Lafell, a friend of mine who is a huge LSU fan said Lafell was way over hyped. He said that he dropped passes in big moments and the highlight video that is posted on the Draft section of the forum is ridiculous...he is wide open on every single big play that he makes.

Some of the guys who intrigue me are guys like Andre Roberts who may not have played against the best competition had a great Senior Bowl week and posted a decent 40 time. Another guy is Marcus Easely who is raw but talented...he is the kind of guy who we could grab in the 4th who has some potential...or he could be the next Drew Carter.

A lot of people are enamored with D. Thomas from Georgia Tech but outside the freakish size and athleticism I just don't see it. He is slow and doesn't really come from a passing offense. We may have to break him of more bad habits than we can teach.

I would rather we take someone with less negatives from another position early and then maybe take some chances later on some of the receivers. I would love Jacoby Ford...but no higher than the 3rd...Easley could be had in the forth...and someone like Scott Long from Louisville could be grabbed in the 6th.

    • Until this defense can stop giving up 200+ yards a game on the ground, I don’t want to talk about offensive additions.
