Why is it we want Brady Quinn?

And look at how they have done so far. Yeah Moore, the guy on the bottom came out on top.

b/c football is geared towards individuals, not the team, these stats are gold.......... its a team sport. really please tell me that from 07 on, the browns have been even close to as good as the panthers. last year exactly who did quinn have to throw to that was the equal of moose? they traded butterfingers braylon edwards mid season and after him who exactly was did he have to throw the ball to? also he didnt have a running game pumping out 100+ yards a game. he did have 1 guy on the offense worth a damn in joe thomas, after that who?

moore has had a better surrounding cast than quinn.

If anyone watched that MNF game last year, you saw enough evidence that this guy sucks. And he did it in more than one game, but that one he was particularly bad. I remember him trying to hit a receiver on the sideline at least 3 different times and the pass landed about 10 yards out of bounds every time, maybe even more. He was horrible.

There are lots of reasons that stats may or may not totally account for the differences between players. You mentioned two of them. If you want to get picky you could find a few more. If your intent is to belittle Moore then you gave it a shot. If you saw Quinn and Moore last year for example you would clearly see that Quinn played much worse than Moore and it wouldn't have mattered who he had on his team. Honestly I can't remember when he ever threw the ball down the field. Mostly 5-15 yards stuff that the defense just sat on. It didn't spread the field and hurt the run game as well. Part of what made Moore effective was his deep throw accompanied by good recognition of where the holes in the defense were. Both qualities that Quinn failed to demonstrate.

I find it ironic that the lowest picked guy outshines all of the first and second round draft picks that year. Why not enjoy that fact rather than try and shoots holes in it. There really was no comparison using a subjective measure such as observation or objective measures such as completion comparisons and ratings designed to provide means by which to compare one quarterback with another. Using your logic you could never compare anyone with anyone else because no two players have the exact same circumstances.

Scouts would say Quinn's accuracy is average at best, and that's even worse given that he primarily throws short passes (arm strength and pocket presence are question marks too).

Yeah, we've got his old QB coach. Granted, that could mean we go after him if he's let go (seriously doubt we trade) but Scherer could also be privately saying "stay away from this guy".

I just don't see it, and definitely wouldn't want it.

Only way Quinn gets to Carolina is for a low low pick. I could see Carolina giving up a 4th/5th for him (Or maybe two 5th's, 2010 and 2011). We really don't need Quinn if the Panthers have stated they're set on Moore for the future. We might be better off finding veteran QB leadership and roll the dice with what we have. Why try developing two young QB's?
