By two weeks, I'm assuming that means done in time to plot the course for the draft. It really could take longer, but I could see how the teams invovled would want something in place well ahead of time.

I sounds a bit fishy to me also, but not totally out of the question about this potential "trade".

no way this happens. The orgainization is cutting money in order to retain the younger core players on this team. D-will is front and center of this campaign along w/ beason and davis. they have already lost 2 iconic figures of the franchise this offseason (peppers and delhomme), no way they chance alienating the fans by trading away another for a lower pick than originally obtained, and paying more for a guy who isnt as good. Fox's system requires 2 great RB's to work, we have that in place, we need to focus on fixing the other pieces, WR and QB.
