i would like to see more receivers catching passes....i think everyone would....i hate that hackett keeps getting activated over jarrett.....hackett never catches anything and rarely even gets opportunities to do so...jarrett at least brings size to the table....i guess the coaches feel he is still not ready to be given more opportunities

anyways...my point is not that jarrett should start over hackett.....i just want to know why more people arent catching passes.....is it jake??? i know a lot of people think that.... a lot of people say he only looks for smith.....is it the play calling???? is davidson not making a greater effort to call plays that get others involved???? is it that other receivers arent getting open???? WHAT IS IT!!!????

anybody have thoughts on the subject????

I'm not going to pretend that I know everything, so I don't have an answer for that, but Jake does have a knack for relying on Smitty way too much, and it seems that he's been doing it a whole lot lately. As long as he realizes soon that this sh*t doesn't fly in the playoffs, all will be forgiven. :)

I will be the first to say that Jake does watch Smitty for too long on some plays, this happens IMO because basically all the pass plays are designed around him for the most part, I have seen Rosario,Barnidge and more WIDE on some plays and Jake just has his eyes glued to 89.

And Mega I didn't mean on a personal level, you can't say Jake dosen't look for him, they threw a bomb to him on the first play, he can be just as big of a part of this offense as Smitty.

I'm pretty sure that play to Moose was just written up like that, so it really wasn't a decision during play, but executing a flea-flicker to Moose. He was spreading the ball around early this season and even when Smitty came back, but all of sudden he's been looking smith's way too much. I think he relied on Smitty to help get him out of his funk after the bye, and never looked back.

Y'all can argue with mega all you want, but he does have a point. Jake does lock on Smitty VERY often.

im not arguing with him....im not sure what the answer is....but how do we know that jake is locking onto smitty? i know it seems that way since smith puts up all of the numbers...but since we dont know the plays, how can we tell where jake wants to go with the ball when he drops back??
