I heard Pep say that he would have signed here if he would have known we were going to cut Jake....

You know Peppers? If that's the case, then he's not very smart given that he just signed with a team that starts a younger version of Jake.

So I have asked around a bit and all indications are pointing to it being very possible that Smith demanded a trade should Delhomme be the possible starter this season. Since this conversation would have happened between 2 people who would never come out and say that it happened, this is all based on 3rd parties that one of those members spoke to.

We all know Smitty is probably the most competitive person in the NFL. I can definitely see his frustration if Jake was going to again be the QB and unable to throw anything over 15 yards. Smith only looked like himself once Moore took over and began to hit his stride. It is in fact in Smitty's best interest not to have Delhomme start, so can you really blame him?
