90% is optimistic. What NFL QBs are shorter than Bryce? The last successful QB under 5’9” was 60 years ago.

Still blows my mind that young was the consensus #1 pick and now one year later you got all these looky loons coming out with " Told youz guyz he sucks ass!"

I think about 70% of the huddle was "young is the better player" by draft day. It's still a nightmare for us cj stroud fan boys with young on the team.....

That's the problem: Bryce Young was not the consensus #1 pick. There were many who believed that C.J. Stroud was the best of the bunch. There were serious questions about Young's size (and everything that came with it) from more than a few. Young was not a virtual consensus like Williams this year, or Lawrence in the past.

Maybe shorter 90% of all people. 99.9% of NFL quarterbacks. In the history of the NFL. I think there was a guy named Eddie LeBaron that admitted to being 5’7” - which is shorter than Young by maybe an inch, if the truth was admitted to.

And that was in the ‘50s when an offensive guard could be probably 225# and had to sell insurance in the offseason.

Honestly I think the consensus was being happy with either and just hoping the FO did their diligence (and had the competence) to pick the right one…or one of because both could’ve worked out. I wanted Stroud but wasn’t mad at the pick at the time.

A lot of people thought Bryce would get injured as their main reason and well that’s been wrong.

However, what have noticed is the media now taking a complete 180. Now all of a sudden his size matters lol

Hitting on a franchise QB living up to number 1 overall is incredible difficult and so it is lazy to say he’ll bust and then want everyone to think you’re right and know what you’re talking about it’s dumb. Like I could said that the past 30 years no matter what and be like 90-95% right.

Young has hella work ahead of him. For me personally I don’t think his size matters as much as his mental strengths just not translating.

I'd kick this guys balls into his throat if I saw him. It's one thing to diss a guy on a message board, but this clown gets paid to have a take any slobberhead on here could come up with.

Dude slurs like he just polished off a bottle of Mad Dog.

    • Yeah I think they are wanting to let XL and Coker develop, but I don't see nothing wrong with a speed guy on day 2
    • Finding that dance partner will be difficult and who's to say the team trading up has not offer a package to 5th, 6th, 7th??? They did and were turned down most likely.    I still feel 8th is the hot spot for OT run. If you want the best OT/OL in the draft, 8th is the way.    *But Ive been reading lots of Jets and others having Membou as their pick. Banks and Campbell are right there in great value terms. The whole deal is that pick for the Panthers, they are not looking to spend a top resource on OL, 31 other teams are.    I've also been seeing sanders falling out of the top ten, I just have a hard time buying that. ALso seen dart being drafted in the top ten. FYI last year NO ONE had a 1st round grade on Bo Nix and many thought Michael Penix Jr. was at best late 1st early 2nd. I laugh hard at the failcons drafting Penix at 8th, but I stopped laughing during that week 18 game.... he looked legit......barf....  So... one team could easily trade up for sanders or dart or begin the OL run or Jeanty causes a stir as he falls.  There are legit options, Brandt and Dan get paid for this...
    • I'm with you.  Even an extra 3rd would help.  None of the players you listed are elite though.  Sadly there are very few of those in this draft, but there are a lot of good players in the late first and into the second. We need to realize that we can't get all our needs in this year's draft.  We know we need some sort of edge, a safety, and I feel we need to use one of first 4 picks on a CB, preferably 3rd at latest.  And I want to draft an OT in 3rd to learn behind Moton this year. The extra 2nd would be huge.  2 things Bear Hands has noted in other threads, we can get a rusher in the mid rounds of the first, and if a good LT is available at our pick we should be able to get a deal. I'm ok.  If the media takes are close, trading back to around 15 should get us a second, and since our second is near the end of that round, getting one earlier opens up a whole lot of opportunities.  Either way, Canales builds his infrastructure with this draft.  Next year, with all our picks and probably picking somewhere between 10 and 15, we can get real stars.   All of this depends on hitting on picks this year.
